Key ON, Voltage reading - Pos meter probe on J2-4 and Neg probe on J2-3, should read 5V Pos meter probe on J2-19 and Neg probe on J2-18, should read 5V Doing the above will check supplied power and grounds to sensors Ohm out sensor wiring

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

First and foremost we are learning nothing by unplugging a sensor. All that is doing is causing the ECM to get mixed info, so anything that happens afterwards means nothing As FunTimes said previous, is there a data cable between the two motors? Do the motors have a MEFI 1 or 3? Have a motor...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Apologizes I'm seeing MAP voltage and thinking its 5V Ref. One motor idles close 2 600 and dies, and the other idles around 1200 and doesn't die. The posting of troubleshooting tips above list bad connection and to check CKT 416 and 432 which is the 5V Ref

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

Yes, But Think of it like this. The ECM makes the 5V reference (Ref) voltage to supply the exact number as a Ref. The sensors have 3 wires, Ref, sense and Ref/Gnd. Take the TPS and the voltage going back to the ECM at idle should be lets say 0.6V. With the Ref at 2.55V the ECM may see 0.4V...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

The 5V should be exactly 5V running or not running. The motor will not run with the 5V below spec and it will cause other unknown things to show up as a problem when there isn't one at the location. In short, with bad 5V it can cause a MAP error when there is not one With it not coming up it...

    Hose rigging kit

The thing in the pic is a "fuel demand valve" and is used on newer motors and part of the EPA clean air. Keeps fuel from being squired out when a fuel line is removed by reducing the pressure. Attwood makes them https://www.mercruiserparts.com/8m0044687-valve-fule-5-in Use plastic wire loom...

    Torque specs

Ya know, you REALLY need to quit asking the same question. Your answer is hear for the torque and how to remove. If you want to get noticed again just post "Bump" and it will bring your question back to the top BTW a rol-rock disk, is a roll lock disk, and also called a flap sanding disk...

    2001 Mercruiser 5.7 TBI Won't Keep Running

You have a sensor which is pulling the 5V down to 2.55V Turn key ON and watch the 5V reading. One by one disconnect the sensors to see which one is pulling the voltage down. If no change reconnect and go to the next one

Is the 5V reading as exactly 5V as it should? Unplugging sensors should cause more errors

    Bravo air operated drain.

Should not be an issue, just like to verify with serial number to make sure we're not missing something

    Bravo air operated drain.

The thing is used to vent the water pump during winterization to get water out. They do fail and can cause over heating if they allow air to be sucked in while running. Its another Merc thing that just seems to cause problems in most cases. Merc tries to make it stupid proof so folks won't...

    Bayliner Capri 2150 resurrection.

Understand your concern but my point is it "appears" the bunk supports are welded to the axle. Only way the hull would contact is if the bunks were soft and compressed more.

upgrading the ignition in my 4.3 Mercruiser

Serial numbers are best when asking about a motor Being a 96 and listing Pur/Wht wire it should have a TBV ignition. The pic shows the TBV module and knock module. You probably don't have the knock module

Bravo Shift Cable Bellows Ripped in Half....

Don't see how you can replace the boot without removing the drive. Cab do it with a Alpha but not a Bravo. The center cable comes out from the stern, and the jacket is held in by a nut

No issue with axle being close to hull so long as the bunks are not soft.
