    My neighbor has the 140 4 cylinder vro with similar symptoms. Traced it to a failed check valve off the vro. Oil would pour into the carbs when you shut it down. Does it smoke a lot once you get it going?

    Just looked up your engine, part 13 says it's mounted on the exhaust cover. Look for a small 90 there.

    By the way, motor doesn't come with the pressure sending port for the head, it comes in a kit with the pressure gauge. Your right, someone probably removed it.

Tell tale is the pee tube, that tells you the water pump is working but it doesn't tell you if your overheating just like the water pressure gauge either.     Water temp and fuel/oil level/pressure are audible alarms produced at the control box assuming they are working correctly. Better than visual because you should be looking at the water when running. What is the HP and does it have a tach? If so post a picture. Water pressure gauge is a fitting...

    I've never seen a grease fitting in there. 2 on the tilt brackets and one on the swivel tube.

    Did you remove and blow out the pee tube? Also, remove the fitting on the block that the pee tube sticks in, start the motor and see if it clears out. It likes to log jam there.
