    I just wanted to add, our boats are similar in size and having the same 090m block... while I can't verify what exactly is in your mill I can say with a 1.84 merc drive I can sling a 19p up to the rev limiter. The internals should be similar for a marine engine. Obviously not apples to apples...

    Thats like me walking into work after the "A team" worked a weekend. Never ceases to amaze me the different ways someone can find to screw up what is a pretty simple process. So I guess none of this should surprise me.

    I think the thought of over trimming scares people too. I think there is a pretty large sum of boaters out there that just tilt down and drive around all day and thats it. Never even touching it.

    I've used flux core on stainless. Works fine, just run hot. If its a 110 unit you'll probably have to run near max for those studs. Make a large puddle and don't stop otherwise you have to deal with the slag.
