    Got it thanks Kenny Nunez.

    Separate intermediate housing?

Why am I getting a no picture message, and not able to load pics?

    Separate intermediate housing?

Trying to remove the steering cable from the intermediate housing. Have removed the set screw holding the steering shaft in place, and unbolted the piece where the steering cables attach to the intermediate housing. But steering shaft will rotate and slide back and forth a 1/2" but remains stuck...

    Separate intermediate housing?

I’m waiting on the wrench should be here tomorrow. Just have 4 nuts left to remove. The steering I’m not sure about how to remove it from the housing.

    Separate intermediate housing?

Thanks Kenny has power steering so that should help. So I guess get that drive coupler popped off first. And hopefully the nuts aren’t seized on the flywheel housing.

    Separate intermediate housing?

Got a 225 OMC. Can I separate the white part in pic from the blue part? And do it from outside the boat? Outdrive is already removed. I see where the two blue pieces seperate. Can that be done from outside the boat?

    1975 225 OMC

Will have a look at that and I guess if I’m basically changing all the upper/lower unit seals I will do prop and ball gear drive shaft also.. Probably in there tighter than Toby’s -$=. Yeehaw. Hopefully it and the vertical driveshafts are ok.

    1975 225 OMC

Thanks men appreciate the answers. One more question I have the drive stripped down to replace the impeller and in this parts picture the drive was missing these two metal washers part number 21 which asks the question are they necessary? The drive performed great on a test run and no issues...

    1975 225 OMC

I get all that Scott, just don’t see the advantage of adding a crank driven water pump to cool the engine.

    1975 225 OMC

Sorry I get the impellor would keep the drive cool, but my question is why bother with the raw water pump if the impellor in the drive is supplying water? What am I gaining?

    1975 225 OMC

Excuse the naive question but how do I benefit from adding the raw water pump if I have to keep the outdrive impeller? And I rely on my temp gauge to tell me if an impeller malfunction by the temp. If the impeller malfunctions and the raw water pump is sending water cooling the engine I guess...

    1975 225 OMC

I was talking to guy on a OMC forum about adding a raw water pump and a sea water pickup on my crank to circulate engine cooling water. An idea I like, if it eliminates changing the outdrive impellor, but does it. What could I eliminate from the outdrive if I went with raw water cooling. There...

    1975 225 OMC

Thanks, Boat was new to me. When parts show up will put it back together and take it to the lake. It did have impeller issues so was good to take a look.

    Difference

I have a1993 Yamaha T9.9elrr kicker on my 1976 slickcraft 22’ boat. It had a 11.75 by 9.25 prop on it. Is a 12 by 9.25 be much difference? . Never run it all out 97% of the time just trolling. If the motor has to work a little harder to troll that would be fine.

    1975 225 OMC

I wish I had known you can’t run the motor in a barrel. Manual says squat about it. But so I’m clear when in the barrel I have the tell stream behind that hose fitting. But no water. So when I go to the lake if I have the same tell stream behind the hose fitting, if I remove supply hose at the...

    1975 225 OMC

Can you think of a reason I have the stream but no water getting to my thermostat housing? I did unhook the hose at the thermostat housing, then hooked a garden hose to that end and forced water backwards and had the drive in a tank but could feel the back pressure at the intake on the drive, so...

    1975 225 OMC

I have the cap on that was a before picture. The stream comes from behind the four bolt piece behind the hose fitting. Is there a tell stream of water on the omc 225 like a outboard to confirm the water pump/impeller is working?
