    Sank the 'ol girl!?!

If you decrease the gap does the spark change color? Do you even know if there's a problem yet? Id be very surprised if the module had a part failure here. If you have 12v to the module and the connection is clean, you're probably good

So glad we're not on a lake.

Regardless of engine, impeller is always the first suspect. (And second, and third)

    Stupid Question from New Member

Many times the rotor is glued on, needs to be broken to remove. Dremel, pliers, punch, etc

Only if you do it right 😥

    8.7 Volts at the Coil

Wait, you're *charging* someone for this?

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Ok, ok. Got it. Leave it moored, and just buy beer instead. Hang out on the boat and keep it stationary. You could also stop chasing all the gremlins as long as the stereo works.

    My boat is being a boat . . .

Yeah, I think you picked the wrong boat for cheap ownership. At least it was cheap to initially purchase, right :) Maybe focus some more on the whaler. I'm trying to find a destination that I can boat to, walk to a super close gas station and fill jugs. As it is I have to drive 8 minutes to the...

What/how exactly are you turning? Are you telling about the balancer on the front not moving?

    Sank the 'ol girl!?!

Module is sealed fwiw. I dunked mine in brine, every positive wire corroded. Ign module and sensor still work going on the second summer though.

    Merc 2003 25hp 2 stroke, sad 😢

Yeah I know, I'm surprised. Gauge reads 150 on my 4.3l. 35% leak on a 2 stroke seems excessive, and only places to lose air is rings and hg, right? Which plastic bits? Covers covering what? Is that in the manual somewhere?

    8.7 Volts at the Coil

Certainly more likely imo, along with corrosion across the ignition fuse and ground from the helm back (not clear if the voltage drops at the red wire when ignition turned on, and if he's measuring voltage using helm ground or battery)

    8.7 Volts at the Coil

Weak spark, sure. But he's getting low voltage to the coil, which is coming from the ignition. If he gets that fixed and still has weak spark then go chasing the module

    Merc 2003 25hp 2 stroke, sad 😢

Got the above engine. Not performing as it should. Compression 60 psi in both cylinders. Did a leak down and got 30-35% in both cylinders, though not sure the relevance in a 2 stroke. I'm surprised it's running. Still hits 26-27 mph (previous 28-29), and able to pull kids on skis (not without...

    8.7 Volts at the Coil

This isn't the issue. Module has nothing to do with his problem.

Shift interrupt switch - how to adjust??

You can disconnect, check, and install new cable on land. Final adjustments to be made on the water if needed. Properly working SIS only gets triggered coming out of gear on the water. Otherwise not enough resistance on the prop.

    8.7 Volts at the Coil

Likely 2 wiring issues. First is drop with key on, either bad ground connection to helm and/or bad connection along r/p wire. Loss across fuse would be a suspect. #2 is a bad connection along purple wire from key switch. Connections to test are at the tach where the purple (usually) branches...

Shift interrupt switch - how to adjust??

Plunger switch isn't the problem, as the shift plate shouldn't move at all going into gear. Not sure if the plate torque, but iirc that bolt is shouldered so shouldn't be able to hinder plate movement with over tightening (and if it was loose that would make it less likely to stall). Disconnect...
