Manual Bilge Pump Switch Not Working When Auto Float Wire Connected

I can't find a shoreline with integrated float switch (although just saw that you purchased it, so should come with instructions and wiring diagram, no?) Give a link to the wiring diagram or directions. Does your helm switch just have the pump wire on one side and 12v on the other? Switched or no?

Manual Bilge Pump Switch Not Working When Auto Float Wire Connected

I think you need a 3 way switch. Either circuit can be closed, but not both. Any idea what pump you have?

    1993 4.3 engine oil type

Interesting that synthetics are specifically not recommended. Wonder why? IIRC the old merc oils were synthetic instead of the current blend

    Unknown Short Circuit

If the diode is shorted closed, current flows backward through the op switch into the ignition (purple wire), so engine won't turn off when the ignition switch is turned off. Starter is engaged through the yellow/red wire, not anything on this circuit. If shorted open no current flows to the tks...

    Fuel capacity

Plenty on the site about that if you search for it. If I could get it for the same price as a 3.0L I would, and would have to get a $1-2k discount over a similar 4.3. While the parts are harder to find and more expensive, you only need half as many as a vee engine. You for sure need to be...

    Need help with plugs selection

I've been using these since my ngks rusted to crap after one season and one broke trying to remove. Any theoretical/magical performance gains offset by being able to remove the damn things.

    Unknown Short Circuit

No it isn't. Again, disconnect temp switch. Test it directly. Hopefully you're making sure there's no power in the circuit you're testing for continuity. Incorrect. Alternator and coil have nothing to do with this circuit, as mentioned. Op switch doesn't work that way, it's a mechanical...

    Unknown Short Circuit

@muc right, temp switch would need to be bad (closed when cold) for a short in p/y to blow that fuse.

    Unknown Short Circuit

A diode failure shouldn't blow the fuse or prevent cold starting either way though, right? P/y doesn't become purple. It branches at the oil press switch. When you have oil pressure the purple feeds The p/y wire. I don't see how a short in the p/y would cause that fuse to blow unless the temp...

    Started, died and wont restart

You might also be able to get to the tank through the vent line. looks like the starting system is separate from the PCM, so pulling the fuse to the PCM should disable the ignition and let you crank.

Wiggle test. Just like it sounds. See if you can grab the wires, wiggle them and see if you can get the engine to die

I couldn't find your prop on the solas site, but odds are that's an 18p

    Unknown Short Circuit

I don't think so, but depending on your fault you may not be powering your fuel pump. Default position of the tks module is enrichment... It provides less fuel over time when powered, like standard choke. That said, a lot more complexity for no real purpose.

    Unknown Short Circuit

That looks like the tks fuse. Orange wire connects to the temp switch. A short in the wiring or switch will blow that immediately. Try disconnecting the temp switch.
