Trailer winch question and tilt question? 1st timer.

As Jim said, REPLACE the worn strap, then wrap the strap so it comes off the top of the winch. But the strap should go under the the bow roller. this helps hold the bow down, so it doesn't bounce, or slide over the top in the event of an accident. And yes, you can adjust the bow roller height...

Its in the trailer manual, if you have it. Also covered in this video at about the 15 second mark. I doubt this has anything to do with your heat issue, but thought I'd pass it on.

    Dented pontoon log with tear

Work out a cash settlement and have it fixed. It won't be cosmetically perfect, but it beats having it totaled and starting your search all over again.

Shouldn't be necessary unless grease is leaking out. You know you are supposed to jack the trailer up and spin the wheel when adding grease to those hubs, right?

    Bigger now bolt.

I added an extra bow eye when I redid my boat. One for tie down strap, and one for winch strap. Makes it easier to launch and load. Remove tie down strap, attach bow line for launching, then release winch.

Test running my Mercury 90HP (outboard)

And do NOT leave it unattended. Those muffs can vibrate off and your motor will overheat in no time at all. IF I use muffs, I secure them with duct tape.

    '84 115hp T-o-P rebuild

Aww jimmbo, no fun. Yes Venomous Duck, there is no removable head. You would have to cut it off, I mean in half. You have to split the case open to access the innards. And yes, #6 is often the first to go.

    '84 115hp T-o-P rebuild

DO Not remove the head from that engine. In most cases, removing the head will make it useless, never to run again. I doubt you will find a head gasket for that motor as well, but, I've been wrong before.

    Help identifying this 60s boat.

"My question is if you got a boat that didn't run why would you register it?" Because that's the law. Same applies to a car, operational or not. He says "he has a bill of sale from previous registered owner". Or did he steal it ?

    Expected speed from Minn Kota

You're asking a lot from a 55# troller. The answer is ...maybe..? I could get 3.1 mph out of a 65# 24v motor, but the boat was only about 300#, 75# fully rigged. You will be really slow going into a wind.
