    Thanks. I tought the gauge sensor was on the SB side of the block at the valve. I will have to check again what it looks like.

    Overheating, again

    Update. Thermostat was bad. It is a new thermostat that I changed 3 years ago (non Volvo) so it was the last thing I suspected. I'm lucky that I kept the old one in the boat ... It was good, but changed as preventive maintenance. So, if it ain't broke, don't fix it LOL.

    Mine is a 5.7 Gi-D and is a 2004 with MPI Yours is younger because of the -J. Shoud be MPI as well. I'm confused.

    If you never had a kill switch at this location, it may be a provision for a futur install, blocked by a plug, that got lost at some point. My Volvo shifter has the kill switch but just below. On the picture, I removed the switch to replace it with a new one.

    I did some research last summer when I changed mine on my 2004 5.7 Gi-D. I had 41-983 which is a double platinum plug. I replaced them with 41-993 which is iridium (last longer). Boat ran well the whole summer.
