    Dexoleum

Have not heard of it, but did find it mentioned on old sail boats Could do it like we did it in the USCG. Mask the area that needs the coating. Put down a thick coating of paint, then sprinkle sand all over. Once dry, sweep off and its good to go

Anyone use synthetic nylon winch cable? Or anything besides steel?

I have used both, and steel is all around better for the long run. You can normally tell when it needs replacing and in may cases, just need to cut the cable end off and use cable clamps to put the hook back on Nylon straps, kevlar and other synthetic cables can were down inside. Could have a...

2000 Volvo Penta 5.7GSi PEFS still running rich!

John at Boats U is a sharp guy and knows his stuff, only thing IMO he's a bit arrogant. Loves to tell folks how much he knows, just don't contradict him or he will go off the deep end some times, not always.

Overhauling my 1988 Alpha One Drive Train

Agree, we're getting mixed on the front and rear You have old style where the cable is screwed into the bell housing. To install a new style, the threaded hole is drilled out, new cable slides in, and nut goes on the outside at the cable end. Makes it much easier to change The transom...

    volvo penta 4.3 GXI-J

With it being intermittent I don't see it being the computer this time. Most likely its a bad connection. The kill switch can get corrosion on the contacts, a loose contact on the computer connector or other. Just no way to determine what is wrong until it won't start.

Need to find out if the pump runs when it doesn't start If the pump does not come ON and it does crank, then it might be the man overboard kill switch, or ignition key switch or just a bad connection.

Can do it with a bathroom scale if the weight isn't over 3000 lbs. Can also take it to a truck scale. This will show how, and your looking for about 5 to 6% on the tongue https://www.venturetrailers.com/resource/how-can-i-calculate-my-tongue-weight/
