Bravo 3 overheating - oil expansion

Google Mercruiser gear lube bottle over flow. So far as a test, I have not given it any thought. Maybe remove the bottle and attach a hand vacuum pump to show when vacuum is pumped the valve opens. Then with a bicycle pump and gauge, pump it up to 5 psi to see if it holds. Watch the bottle...

Bravo 3 overheating - oil expansion

The drive lube bottle cap is most likely your issue. The cap has a one way valve which allows air in but not out. The B3 does generates more heat then other Bravos and with the expansion the lube does increase IF the valve does not operate correctly. The classic symptom is the bottle over...

    Rebuilding '82 Crestliner

There would be no issue with filling with foam and would add strength. I would not use FG sheet instead of plywood, I don't think it will be as stiff. In most cases its best to use a whole saw and cut holes in several places to pour foam in. This also allows for it to expand and come out...

Hope someone would come up with the correct puller I remove the pump before attempting to replace/pull impeller. What about removing the hoses so you can pull it out?

    Removing impeller

As Bt said it just pulls out, but many times its damaged when removed. I use a par of channel lock pliers. The impeller will last longer if removed every year, but I just replace every 2 and not worry about it. To reduce the set, keep the belt off and give it a 1/4 to 1/3 turn every month
