Picked up a 120 and 140 hp motors, and both are 20 inch shafts, power trim. The 120 has old style leg and the 140 has new style. The 120 has a fuel filter and pump attached to the motor, and the 140 has 2 fuel pumps in series.
Well, the rain didn't last long, so I ran up to wally world and picked up two. Ran back and all good. Called the guy up and he said he would meet me GREAT. Cut 3 hours off the trip
So I met them north of Lexington at a truck stop and made it back with a 120 and 140 HP motors, controls and...
The bats will take a charge from about any 3 stage charger. The difference is how fast you want to charge them. The lithium will charge faster then the AGM so guess it depends how much time will it be plugged in?
The alternator will also change when running, and would suggest using a ACR
There was a change over from the design 1 to design 2 in 1993.
Those thermostats can get clogged, even easier if there is salt. It uses a small passage design to restrict water flow to the manifolds. They were also used on some of Merc later racing motors like the 500EFI.
The manifold to...
Started the truck up to go get the motors and it threw a code for low voltage. Did my test and thought it might be one of the bats had a dead cell, but no there both low. The ALT won't bring them higher then 13.2V. Then tried one at a time with 40 amp changer, still no good.
Going to get a...
It should have 3 wires
If it starts and the pump does not run, then its the purple side feed and most likely the switch
From starter to pump during cranking from pur/yel to pump
From pur to pump once started
That is the over temp switch, it closes when the motor over heats and sounds alarm
The oil pressure switch is most likely port side down by the remote oil filter connection. May also have the oil pressure alarm switch on a Tee, or it could be behind the distributor
Your oil pressure switch should have 3 wires on it.
One goes to the fuel pump
One purple/yellow
One Purple
Also the key switch doesn't look right, what are the terminal letters on it?
