    The high pressure pump part number is 3857650. There are plenty available on the web. I recommend getting an OEM unit (OMC or Volvo), even though they are five times the cost of the Amazon Chinese versions.

    I use Volvo or Amsoil gear oil. Can't use in engines since the viscosity is wrong (75W-90 or so for gear oil). Amount depends on your outboard or drive. My drive take less than two quarts.

    Drive ratios are tailored to the engine peak torque and horsepower. The 1.97 is likely aligned with a 4.3L motor. If you change ratios, you need to change prop pitch so don't over or under rev the engine at WOT.
