    Nobody fishing?

My wife and I went fishing 2 days ago. Stayed at the pond for 2 hours. Zilch. She caught several bluegill, but they were too big to use for bait. And I never got a strike for bass. We did see some big bass cruising the shoreline, but they were flat out not interested in anything we tossed...

    Nobody fishing?

I hope that you had a chance to take your neighbor out. Getting it done while you can is important. My 81 y.o. buddy passed away on Aug 8th this year. But, he had great memories of fishing with me and the family!

Well guys, all of my health care is via the Veterans Administration, so none of that commercial industry stuff is applicable. I really don't want to crap up my build thread with complaints about health care systems. I just wanted to let folks know why it's taking me forever to get this boat on...

Doc appt was a flop. I got referred to the wrong doc. :cautious: But, she was kind enough to check me out and then got me on the correct path. Delays, delays. :sneaky:

Such slow progress. I've been essentially unable to walk for a month. I could just hobble around inside the house a little, and even then I had great pain. 😬 But the pain eased up in the last couple of days after I stayed off my feet for a week or so and I'm able to hobble a...

A little more progress this afternoon. :sneaky: I removed everything from the charger mounting board and used it as a drill template. Got all the holes drilled, including the big one for the 120v connector. I was pleased to learn that the console bulkhead is aluminum and not plastic. Looks...

Batteries are charged! I'm liking the convenience of this new charger. (y) Yes, it took awhile, but I'm used to that. On my other boats, I'd charge the TM battery using my regular charger set at 2 amps. So, 4 amps is better. I'll likely not get any more done out there today. Weather...

Relay? EDITED: Oh, you mean circuit breakers? Yes, the TM has 40 amp circuit breakers.

Eight hours after putting the batteries on charge, they're now in conditioning mode. I don't know when they switched over, but I'll let them keep going overnight.

Can not stop wanting a Butterball Turkey.

Arby's is offering deep fried turkey sandwiches. Pretty good! 😋

I managed to climb up into the boat this morning and do some testing. 🤪 Got the charger connected to both trolling motor batteries. Then I applied power through the outlet on the board. Everything worked! Next steps will be to pull everything off the board, then use it as a...

Can not stop wanting a Butterball Turkey.

I lived there from 1970 to 1976. I even worked at Cedar Point! 🎢 I boogied out of there in November 1976. Had enough of that cold place. My cousin and I drove our motorcycles from there all the way to Boca Raton, FL... through the snow!🥶 It was quite an experience. That was the...

Yesterday, my wife helped me bring the charger stuff into the house so that I could do some low risk layout testing and whatnot. This afternoon, satisfied with the layout, I took the stuff back out to the garage and drilled holes, cable tied and bolted everything into place. Then called it...

Another update. I keep on getting injured, recuperating, going back out there and getting injured again. Lather, rinse repeat. I've been trying to get set up for Physical Therapy, but the VA PT clinic now requires patients to go to the main hospital, which is 50 miles away for me. I...

Can not stop wanting a Butterball Turkey.

Me too. I remember back in 1975 when I was living in Sandusky OH and my dad and I were visiting my aunt and uncle. A blizzard hit and we were socked in. About 3 feet of snow on the ground. 🌨️❄️⛄ Not much to do but eat and watch tv. My aunt made some home made rolls from scratch and while...

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

That wheel is exactly what I had on my Kingfisher and I liked it so much that I got one for my current Mirrocraft boat. Never burned my hands on it at all here in Florida, even in upper 95+ degree temps on sunny days.

Can not stop wanting a Butterball Turkey.

My wife and I skipped the whole big turkey meal this year. She won't eat the leftovers and I'm the only one who will. So, we went with Marie Callender meals. Worked well! 🦃

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

The stainless wheel is definitely easier to maintain. Down here in Florida, they can get pretty hot, but up where you are there should be no problem. Gotta love a Brodie knob. I have one on my tractor. (y)😁

    1974 Starcraft 21’ Holiday

Duh. I forgot something. I hadn't had my coffee when I made this post earlier. :coffee: :sneaky: I used the finishing nails on the sides of the aluminum cap, as well as along the top. Plus, at the end of the cap, where the transom cap meets the sides of the hull, I used long stainless wood...
