    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Found a practical sailor article testing some of available strippers. (May have already seen it) Practical sailor

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

So all the paint strippers dad used are banned now (for good reason) though they did work well... to the point they'd actually attack the gel if left too long. I haven't had to strip a hull... My friend used the smart strip you used coupled with a pull scraper. Took a couple days but went right...

I sanded mine with a palm sander. Went quick.

Aftermarket Mercruiser parts, What are you using???

My original mercs went 15 years. The replacement sierra kit went about 6. The merc kit that replaced that was 293$. The sierra was 210$ at the time.

I have the exact opposite problem... finding a 5+ lb bird is a chore but can find plenty int he 2-4 slot.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Could always sink the boat on land. Kidding aside, something like a cover pillow for an aboveground pool would probably work. They're cheap and when you're done you don't feel bad about wasting them.

Yeah poolish works well. I call it a preferment... same difference. Technically there are differences in preferments and poolish is one of them. I made a potato au gratin last night.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

I have used 50lb bags of sand from the shop. Back on the shelf when done. Obviously you'll need more than I did and that would suck to do manually.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Just don't over order csm like I did and have 30 yards of it left over and not know what to do with it. I've just been giving it away to people who need it for projects at this point. Goes slow.

Winterizing, use E-0 stabilized gas or install shut off valve and run carb out of fuel?

My holley came with some sort of sludge crap in it shipped from them. Mineral spirits maybe.

    Spinning reels

I have an old... older than me at this point... ABU garcia rod with a newer Penn Fierce II reel with either 15 or 20lb mono on it that I pulled in a lot of stripers with. I have run the avengers listed above too and they are excellent as well. The bait feeder was nice for live lining and the...

Running New Style Merc 6.2L DTS on a Pallet ???

I did see a video of a 6.2 running on a stand on marketplace a while back, didn't see controls or anything while he circled so it must be possible.

Winterizing, use E-0 stabilized gas or install shut off valve and run carb out of fuel?

Stabil in the fuel, fog the engine and shoot fogging oil down the vent into the bowl. Haven't had to touch a carb in 15 years doing that.

    93 Mariah engine mount

You don't need the pink insulation. As long as it fits to the hull reasonably well just bed it down. The PL is fine but you have an offgasing period of a couple days. If you make a thickened resin with cabosil and glass fiber to bed in, you can roll your filet and glass while its wet so its a...

    93 Mariah engine mount

Cut the stringers so it fits the hull reasonably well. Mark where it'll rest. Lay a bead of thickened resin, putty, PL, whatever there. Drop stringer on top and round filet. Glass in place.

Thinking about it... the crumb cake i follow to the T. Granted that has specific brands for ingredients so it is super dialed in. I don't stray on that one but also had to beg for it.

I have the family recipe book which is more a suggestion book. I really only use books for baking and even then... outside something like the cream puffs I've modified almost everything.

Another observation... anyone else have an old recipe they always go to? I've noticed, and had this conversation with my girl, that the old ones just plain work. Like cream puffs... the one I have is 40 years old. I've tried various ones on the internet with mixed results then found this one in...
