    1997 Mirrocraft 18' aluminum fish n ski

I'll have to add brakes to the donor boat trailer. I hauled the boat home 350 miles and my little Trucklet had no problems with pulling power and just a tiny bit with braking, which I overcame with earlier braking. Got 18MPG on the way too! 😁 My vehicle warranty states that I must have...

    1997 Mirrocraft 18' aluminum fish n ski

My neighbor buddy came over the other evening to help me with another project and he advised me to "do the big things first" on the MC. Meaning, get the 150 moved over before rebuilding the water pump. Then, strip the donor, haul it to the dump and then get the trailer ready for the MC. I'll...

    1997 Mirrocraft 18' aluminum fish n ski

Thanks guys! I'll be getting started on this pretty soon. I should be getting the 70HP Merc running today (from my canceled Chieftain project, Post #308 in the Chieftain thread) and once that's done, I can start moving forward on the MC.

Yes, I'll be doing that today.

1982/83 70HP 3 cyl fuel pump WATER line I.D. size?

I've looked all over the webz and can't find the part anywhere. Marineengine.com and Crowleymarine.com don't show it either. The fuel pump is water cooled and the new hose I've been trying to install just doesn't want to go on. It was checked side by side with the old hose and the I.D. of the...

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Wow! Bears in the back yard!

    1997 Mirrocraft 18' aluminum fish n ski

Although it's not a Starcraft, it's an all aluminum boat, including the deck. So, I hope you guys can go along with me on this thread. :sneaky: In all reality, this will likely be my final boat. I'm too old with too many health problems, so I need something "simple" that will work for me and...

    Went electric

Yeah, the Dewalt 20v adapter is what I'd been using. The really do suck. :(

    Went electric

Check Post #32 for a video of the crossover trick. I'm not even a weekend warrior for tool use. Having multiple boat projects over the last decade has really been the only real use for them. Once those projects are done or eliminated, my tool use will drop significantly.

    Went electric

I did the crossover trick with the Dewalt 20v batteries. It didn't really help. Yes, the batteries then started charging, but stopped after about a minute. And the charge only held about 15 seconds. :cautious: I'll be trashing the Dewalt stuff and just going with the Hyper Tough from...

    Nobody fishing?

First time fishing for us since February. It was nice to get out again. I lost 3 nice bass, but caught this one. I'm really out of practice. :sneaky: My wife is more photogenic than me, so she gets the pic! Pic of a visitor at the pond.

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

My buddy came over this evening, measured everything and said that swapping the trailers should be no problem. Thanks guys!

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

Yah, I like the boat as low as possible as well. My bud now says he'll be over today sometime. He's putting up fence at his place now.

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

I have a neighbor/buddy who can do all of that stuff. He's supposed to be coming over this evening and I'll talk with him about it then. It sure would be nice to keep that bass boat trailer.

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

Huh? I don't understand your reply. 🤷‍♂️ I'm asking about swapping trailers.
  17. BWR1953

Will this boat fit on that trailer?

That is the question. I recently purchased a donor [bass] boat for the motor and other stuff. The trailer is very nice with new tires and I'd really like to keep and use it for my MC boat, which has a rusted trailer. Both boats are 18 feet long and each weigh 1300 pounds. The bass...

    Restoring the ID Tag

You can have new ones made pretty cheaply. I did. And I can't find the email with the company who did the work. D'oh. But search the interwebz and you should be able to find some.

How to choose an old 2-stroke 150/175 Merc

Thanks Chris. I'm just going to run the thing the way it is now. It's been working well for 34 years, so I'm not changing it. Besides, I can't do much nowadays anyway. :sneaky: I remember running tuned pipes on my RC airplanes 50 years ago. You could really tell when the prop started to...

How to choose an old 2-stroke 150/175 Merc

Found it! Looks like the engine was built on Jan 6, 1992. That means it's the original engine on this 1992 boat. 34 years old and still strong! Thanks again! :D
