The vinyl seems to be pretty good quality, and there is a lot of padding but they are firm. They feel like new seats.

Thanks! My back-to-back (I think what you're calling sleeper seats) were purchased from Deck-Mate. Then I purchased the matching vinyl from Deck-Mate to have the rear bench built custom. I like my new back-to-back seats. I remember doing a little homework about the vinyl and it's a pretty...

I reinstalled my new back bench and took it to the shop to have the side panels built. This is the first time I saw the bench installed with the newly covered transom cap. I think it looks sharp. Can't wait to see it with the sides installed. I should get it back in about a month or so. The...

I think they matched the seams in the for the flooring with the seams for the metal. I'm pretty sure that seam is where the metal comes together too. Then they replaced the rivet as in the pictures.

Thanks Shoestring! I used marideck vinyl flooring, which I believe is basically the same thing as Nautolex. I chose the marideck because I wanted it done in white, and I couldn't find where Nautolex is made in white. I can't take credit for the work. I bought a roll of the flooring I wanted on...

No problem at all. That's what we're all here for, discuss and help each other with our project boats.

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

I've been waiting on a couple new trim pieces (should be in later this week). In the meantime, I've been getting some of that new 316 SS hardware installed. I cut some 3/4 marine ply and backed my forward cleats with it. I've been wanting to do that, but the side panels were in the way. They...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

I wanted to share this picture that shows what I've been talking about. The metal shop cut the new transom cap such that the corner doesn't hold it down anymore. Instead, my transom cap will be held down by the cleat screws and the hot rod pins. This change means that my corners don't have to be...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

They finished up installing my marideck vinyl flooring today. I think they did a great job. That really cleaned the boat up a lot. Next up: Side Panels

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

I picked my boat up from having the corners cleaned up. Sorry no pictures right now, but I'll get some later. What they did, they trimmed the corners of the new transom cap I had built, to match the curvature of my corner trim pieces, so now my transom cap is no longer held down by my corner...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

The shop that is doing some clean-up on the corners of my transom cap let me come in and work on the boat a little bit. I went in and removed my side panels, the trim piece I was asking about, and I looked at how my windshield is attached. I appreciate the input. It was good to be able to go...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

My boat's in the shop and I'm trying to do some planning. Can anybody tell me how the piece of trim in the picture attaches to the boat? I don't see any rivets. Also, can anybody explain what is involved with removing the windshield? Are they flimsy when removed? Is there some kind of seal or...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

I've been kind of leisurely working on some bezels for my side panels. I anticipate that the depth of the speakers will be somewhat problematic, so to help mitigate that I decided to have some custom king's starboard bezels cut. This will not only give me a little more clearance to play with...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

Thanks guys. I like what I'm seeing and can't wait to have the side panels done. It's going to look like an entirely different boat at that point, but there's still a few other things I'm going to do to get it cleaned up. To Do Yet: - Side Panels - marideck vinyl flooring down the gunnels and...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

I got a couple pictures of the back of my boat this morning and I couldn't be happier with what I'm seeing! They're setting my boat aside to tackle a couple other projects before they do the sides. It's going to be beautiful when they get those sides done though! In the mean time I'm gonna...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

They called me today to come check out my new engine cover and seats. I'm pretty happy with how it's going. They're going to start upholstering it. I'm pretty pleased with my make-shift work bench I created. I needed something to attach bench top tools to so I bought a tool cart, made a framing...

    1966 Starcraft Holiday Interior Work

On the boat front: I had a pretty good conversation with the shop. They're currently building my jump seats and new engine cover. It should be complete in about another week. They're having me check it out before it gets upholstered. On my outdrive adventure: I built a cart for it and drained...

Here's an off topic question. Should I get a new tow vehicle? I'm kicking around the idea of upgrading and getting something newer. I might as well ask you guys, right??? Currently I have a 2008 Ram 1500 series with the 5.7 Hemi. It has 173k miles on it. When I bought it, it had 116k miles and...
