    Inflatable Boat Trailer Suggestions

Harbor freight fold up trailer. I think it’s 4x8 deck. The mariner is around 9’ long but it won’t matter. When I had a Seahawk 3 I put it in the back of my pickup truck. You can strap it to the roof of an SUV as well.

    Advancements in peddle boats?

Well our first trip with paddle boat was great. Just a nice pedal out and around. The lake is a rocky bottom, no mud at all so never got stuck. The seats are a little short for me, but not enough to bother. A more modern boat with adjustable seats might have been marginally more comfortable but...

Hello to everyone and a question or two about a Cobra 5.8

Strike one is 80s Bay liner also known as rot liner, strike 2 is OMC. Strike 3 is Ford power ( not bad in itself. Just NLA ) Icing on the cake to run is noise and trouble in reverse.. Cobra drives can be okay but they are also known for some problems and shift adjustments are critical or the...

Repowering 1972 18' Starcraft SS Advice

That’s a logical and adequate motor for the era.

Repowering 1972 18' Starcraft SS Advice

I wouldn’t power it with less than 120hp. Not 100% sure on what it’s rated for but 90% sure it’s rated for at least 120hp. I have your boats close cousin, a 1971 Offshore V 18. But mines an I/O and now it’s got a 3.0L Alpha one

Best way to gain a little speed with 40hp engine

He means the max rpm the outboard is rated to spin. If you are getting 5200, you may benefit just a smidge by going down a pitch. But it’s not going to help that much

    Lake Ontario

If you are talking about the Imperial, they are fiberglass and any fiberglass boat older than 25 years old is going to have a wood structure that will rot. Imperial, Bayliner, Wellcraft. Doesn’t matter. If your looking at an 80’s glass boat assume it’s rotten. If you are talking about...

    Lake Ontario

Been out on Ontario in multiple tin StarCrafts. 18-21’ and a fiberglass imperial VC230. The imperial was by far the best ride. Even going out in a small boat advisory on it., but the StarCrafts always get the job done. Ride out in the rough weather and fish with the waves on a rough day

    Hangkai 6hp Outboard Maintenance

You certainly can over rev an outboard. You can have the wrong prop and spin it way out of spec. A 110v rectefier for USB may work. Check fuel in tank by in screwing cap

    Advancements in peddle boats?

The local lake is non power only and about 10’ deep on average. It’s like 2 miles to walk around the entire lake. I will probably bring a paddle just in case which I could either paddle or shove bottom with if need be.

Best way to gain a little speed with 40hp engine

Easiest way is to replace the 16’ pontoon with a 16’ fish and ski. You’ll gain 10 mph on the low side. To go above displacement speed, you need to get ontop of the water. The boat needs to be able to climb its own wake. A pontoon without lift strakes and a lot of hp won’t do it. Back in the...

    Advancements in peddle boats?

I wound up picking up the Water Wheeler. Gave them $160 for it. If I’m reading the HIN correctly, it’s a 1995 model and by the capacity plate is rated for an electric motor. Not sure where it would go but Water Wheeler did build electric models. It is a Water Wheeler junior

Jet Star Rotary Steering Cable Length and hp help

IMO, if the cable drum is working good you would be wasting money because it gains you nothing. I have original cable/ drum on my Holiday 14 OB with a Suzuki DF25A and it works perfectly. 25hp is a little small for a 15’ but it’ll work.

    Depth Finders?

I have a Stryker 4 GPS which is the older model. You can find people who have written contour maps but nothing official as far as I know. It’s good for what it is, but not if you need maps

The Argo App, The Waze Type App for Water Navigation. Free

I tried to use Argo on my Erie Canal trip last year ( launched out of montezuma and went 10 miles up past the aqueduct ruins almost to cross lake. ) it did not work well to the point I used Google maps for my navigation and just ran with it.

    Advancements in peddle boats?

I’m not 100% sure they are out of production but I can’t find much info. This has a large bench seat and space for coolers and stuff behind. I’m not sure where the wheel is https://www.facebook.com/share/tTtX9wqNikbCcFPL/?mibextid=79PoIi

    Advancements in peddle boats?

I don’t think it’s quite square below the waterline. I know all pedal boats are somewhat inefficient hull designs. The intended lake we have in mind is down the road from her parents, and the hiking trails around the lake might take an hour to hike. not sure how big it is, but it’s not very big...
