volvo manufactures it with the snout so that only volvo pullys and dampers fit the crankshaft
.I converted from crankshaft pump to the Bravo type installed on a volvo
and machined a reliefe in the mercruiser pully to fit the crankshaft. pumps a lot more water too.
axel is too close to the frame
shackles extended a bit too far aft, probable fwd too.
springs look a bit flat for the load ,like theres no spring action
think about this . prop turns clockwise in fwd when under power. If you were to turn the input shaft clockwise you will see the prop turn clockwise for fwd gear.
Have been asked to track down the correct application for this gear.standard searches and old catalogs have shown nothing for this part number. 43-18577 , 43-18577T
