    There is no vacuum advance on marine distributors. Depending on which advance curve the distributor has, you set your base timing so you have 34 degrees all-in So if you have a 22 degree advance, you can go up to 12 BTDC. If you have a 24 degree advance, you set base to 10 BTDC
