A two speed winch makes it so easy....why bother with a drill ?? How much weight are you pulling up ( boat weight) then what is the winches rated capacity ?
Many winches that fail are cheapies or not rated for the load being pulled and get worn out. Lack of cleaning or lube ( maintenence) is another factor. In the past couple years I replaced my winch for a better, easier to use winch. The winch on the trailer was in great shape but my shoulders...
If speed and hole shot is wanted, carry two props, I did for years when we had boat toys and the kids were younger. Only takes a couple minutes to change out a prop.
In my opinion the taller tops create far less shade, I cut mine down as low as possible to just be able to stand and end up with greater amounts of shade. Owned a bimini with a window on top and it acted like a magnifying glass in summer sun.....just food for thought.....
Most mfgrs have a plus or minus 2" on the width as the tubing will spring in and out that much. Best option is to measure the width of the two mounting points to start. We can't see or measure your boat and our boats may have a different mounting point. Yep...time to go for a ride !
Check the boats weight....waterlogged foam ? Trapped water in the hull ?
Rollers not rolling freely? Buns need new carpet or slick strips ? Or, as others have mentioned, you not getting the trailer at the right depth ?
Lots of options to help your issue......
I have those same tools, we must have come from similar backgrounds.
When my old drafting table became availiable, we had no good place for it, so wife said no, so.... I bought a boat instead. Guess I showed her !
Scarey.....all these tools that are so old and antiquated.....I currently have at least one of each ! Multiple Vernier measuring tools....and two slide rules that I have forgotten how they work !
Have used tour idea many times and it does work, but my concern is the fastener is brass and could easily be damaged by a sharp blow, or mashed where it couldn't be removed... if it were steel, I would agree fully.
Great idea, but from the pic posted, I don't think there is a head left, appears the center is hollow where the heat sensor broke out. But I could be wrong, just looking at the pic.....
Brass and aluminum do not play well together unless a barrier was added to the threads before install. Worse case scenario is the head might need removed to machine out the left overs. I would try heat then cold a few times to see if the corrosion can be broke loose. Good luck.....
