    there was/is a tool .looks like a giant easy out with a hollow center to fir over the prop shaft .screws under the seal to remove it. Otherwise drill a small hole and screw in small screws to force it out.

    Just to add to the mix but has anyone checked the anti-syphon or the electric fuel shut off solenoid? Might try putting a vac gage in the fuel line to see if there is excessive vac present indicating a restriction in the fuel system.

    UPDATE Both motors are able to burn the fuel using the 2 micron filters without clogging the carb inlet screen.

    that filter head shown accepts the OMC filter using the 1x 14 thread that is larger than the mercruiser thread, and will accept all diesel filters. The other job is getting the Racor S3228SUL 2 micron . that one accepts the large bowl
