    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Thats how my last trailer was - exhaust would be in the water before she floated. Our ramps arent too shallow though. It was dumb luck that I scored this other one for essentially “free”. Actually is a lot harder now that the water is low but hopefully that changes. Id keep an eye out for...

Welcome! Great looking boat. Sounds like she now runs great and just needs interior TLC. Looking forward to your progress!

Where did all the used boats and motors go?

Here in CA used boat prices are 2-3x higher than pre-pandemic. Record amounts of people recreating outside (city people coming up to where I live in the mountains). All the good used boats are gone or go quick for whatever's asked price wise, and dealers have no inventory. Cant find good...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

I do love the low rider trailer lol. The water was so low that its at the end of the ramp where it drops off. Only had 5’ past the wheels of the trailer and she floated…. Truck is dry now to launch. It surprised me too. I will go through my front locker and take inventory. I really didnt...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Thanks @classiccat !!! It was a great time even if it was a half day due to the fuel leaks I fixed first quick. Lots of smiles is right. Need to put my starcraft decals on the sides now! The motor has electric TNT, is that different from manually moving it out with that one big pin at the...

Yes sir!! @SHSU we were quite thrilled to be back out on the water and have her run so well!! First mate did some steering and had a blast. Sawed logs all the way home afterwards. He wants to fish next trip so that will be the plan, try to get him a fish! Appreciate your help through my...

The story of two motors - 75 Johnsons

Ugly Duckling is alive!! Cleaning the carbs really woke her up. Sure she has issues, but she ran today like it was her last chance to prove herself. And she took gold!! Fixed some gas leaks too in the fuel lines that run to the carbs. Other than that, no issues whatsoever with UD. She...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

This morning started with me testing the motor again in the trashcan for a warm up. Found a few more tiny fuel leaks where the lines split to the carbs. Old fuel lines just couldnt be sealed tight with zip ties, so I got new fuel line and replaced the leaky sections quick. Then we headed for...

    1974 Starcraft SS16 Restortation

I keep my cover over mine constantly and never noticed any wear on it. But now Im going to go double check lol. Covers are cheap insurance to keep the boat nice and clean, especially where I live in the forest.

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Well…. Been a long month since my last splash attempt, and a few weeks since I even had time to work on the boat. Archery season starts in 2 weeks and unless I fill my tags quickly (doubtful), I wont be on the water much anyway. My kids been sick all week and since we cant take him to a...

    1976 22' SUS O/B "Hydration Break"

Long bolts are factory (SS i believe) and hold the rub rail on. Under the rub rail trim and inner trim should be aluminum pop rivets with a steel center - it holds the gunnel panels on. Not a bad item to replace either. I replaced all mine as well as most the solids on the gunnel too due to...
