    Waterlogged foam?

That no Forums https://forums.iboats.com/ about those 6 passengers at 150# each....they sit further forward in hopes of balancing the boat out. You can't use the total weight and apply that to the motor only. Your going to have to face the facts,.....you need to un- cap the hull and see what...

    Prop size question

Most 140 up engines used a 1.98 drive ratio. With a typical load onboard, what is your wot rpm ? You need to know this, along with being sure your engine is running properly. Without both of these things, we can only guess what prop might work.....

2019 Grand Cherokee came with wrong size spare....Just found it out

I can remember in the old days, your spare was part of your yearly tire rotation. Yep all 5 of your tires were rotated to even out the wear ! Ouch, guess I am really showing what an old fart I am......

    Waterlogged foam?

Probably fund some rotten wood deep in that hulk when you remove the water logged foam. Being a 1978, it is almost a garentee. Your gonna learn to mess with fiberglass or pay dearly for someone else to do it. Good Luck.

2019 Grand Cherokee came with wrong size spare....Just found it out

When I bought my Cherokee it had a tow package on it, according to the dealer, if the vehicle has a towing pkg it will have a standard size spare like the other tires on the vehicle. My old Blazer had a full size spare as well due to a towing pkg, but my neighbor had the same year and model...

Topped off battery with Distilled water....Why not with battery acid???? Opinions???

The key here is to use a maintainer, not just a trickle charger. Like most things, there are Chinese um trickle chargers for just a few bucks that promise to do it all, but all they do is screw up your battery. Buy decent maintainers and you will be fine as long as you use them as directed...I...

    Cross country trailering advice/tips

If properly lubed and adjusted they won't need much cool off time. By the time I transfer my gear from vehicle to boat and remove the straps and ready to back into the water should be plenty. I often check hub temps while getting boat ready to back in, if any are hot, then I have a problem...

Testing Gas Flow on 82' Wellcraft Sterndrive

If you have the floor up, why not just replace the fuel line with a good quality new fuel line, the cost is minimal for piece of mind.

    Cross country trailering advice/tips

I have used them for years as well. No issues, but I do buy the good ones not the cheap versions, and as mentioned, still do routine maintenance and a full repack every other year.

    Cross country trailering advice/tips

I carry a scissors jack as it works well for both my boat trailer and my side x side enclosed trailer. If I find a questionable condition on one if my 2 hr stops, I can quickly slide the scissors jack under the axle and lift that tire/ wheel to get a better feel for what might be happening. If...

Outdrive will not go back into transom

Yessir.....bought a cheap ATV jack at a garage sale, added a few 2x4's and ended up with an out drive jack. Made the job so much easier and a pair of castor wheels made it easy to move around...

Can I put a 28 hp Johnson on my 14' Aluminum Sea King?

If you knowingly overpowered your boat and get involved in an accident, even not your fault, you could be sued for neglegence. Risky move no matter what....your insurance may not cover your overpowered boat.

Scientist claim to have brought back Dire wolf

When a scientist was interviewed, she stated " they look and act exactly like Dire Wolves".... How would anyone know, last one was 13000 years ago, so who was there to know that ?

Scientist claim to have brought back Dire wolf

According to my news broadcast, they have been extinct for 13000 years !! Had to rewatch the broadcast a couple times to be sure I heard that correctly....how do we know what they looked like and what their traits were like ? For all we know is, they created a white dog to make themselves...

engine rear main seal ? on a 84 3.0 liter merc

Consider this....look at all the time and effort it took to pull the engine, dissassemble, reassemble and reinstall the engine in the hull. Why would anyone want to go cheap so they could do all that again sooner ? Do it right the first time then enjoy your labor for a longer period of time !

Topped off battery with Distilled water....Why not with battery acid???? Opinions???

Use a battery maintainer rather than a trickle charger, while similar, the maintainer will not boil out any water and actually cycles your battery for longer life.

MONO/ Tecumseh 6 HP? Need info

Years back I owned a MONO outboard motor, single cylinder but only 3 hp. Ran great, used it on a rental rowboat to go perch fishing. Can't remember any of the specs other than a 32 to 1 oil ratio. If you have any pics, please post them.

    Cross country trailering advice/tips

Sounds love me you have things covered. On longer trips, I find myself stopping frequently, at least every two hours for a quick leg stretch and to check hub temps on the trailer. To easy to get butt lag on longer trips, much better off to make a quick stop to keep circulation going and keep...

Same here, used to have an excellent bluegill lake, private but knew a landowner so I fished it often. There were many days that we threw back anything under 9" as being to small !! Unfortunately my friend passed away about 12 years back and the property was sold, so now all perch and a few...
