    shows up in parts as 2010..... 2011 is a 4 cylinder 4 stroke.. could be either 2010 or 2011 depending on quarter it was built??? whats really strange is both model and serial number shows up as a 4 cyl. 4 stroke on brunswick (Merc) parts site???

    outboard was very hard to start after sitting a while then smoked a lot

    tha heavy smoke indicates its gettin way more fuel than needed for whatever rpm its tryin' ta run and/or not firin' properly.. may be time for injector and injector o-ring service... don't know where ya are and/or what type fuel ya get in that location but fuel lines may need a close check...

    depending on year it may or may not have a fuel filter on tha bottom of tha electric pump that ya might as well change also....

    yes sir!.. man o man.. thats quite a few "coffee stains" back.. :) most first gen and earlier stuff is really startin' ta fade away along with a lot of other things... still beats tha alternative though!!!

    don't remember ever seein' a tilt/trim circuit being wired inta tha key switch for power.. at least not factory..???

    not sure on how big ya can go.. maybe up ta 60 over?.. would need a jet increase anything over 15/20 though.. jmo... stay away from Wiseco's though.. tweakin' involves motor height, set back and prop.. no play in steering at all is a must... would need that offset plate ta do any...

    your 2.0 motor is built off same block as any 2.5.. jus has 2.0 sleeves.. everything, except sleeves, including block exhaust openings are tha same... BIG DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE with tha 200 on tha F&S ProCraft... would take some "seat time" and set up tweaking ta get a handle on it in my...

    where is tha pressure gauge hose attached to tha block? in tha poppet assy. there is a plastic disc.. it will become slightly "warped" that is seldom noticed unless someone mentions it.. it can cause a "sticky situation"... we would fab new ones with a piece of aluminum or thin stainless stock...

    justa 'bout any aftermarket manual is gonna suck.. jmo. part no. OEM.. 90-976583... 100 bucks from a dealer but might try ebay? thats sticker shock i know.. but if ya gonna do these things yourself it will put ya $$$ ahead....

    gotta disagree with chris.. 40 lbs is gonna be high on this one.. i would venture ta say 17/18 lbs is 'bout "average" for tha merc V6.... i'd start with poppet.... complete "kit". there are two designs (old and new) for tha poppet.. you will need ta identify yours by how many bolts hold it to...

    purple comes from key switch.. ANY purple ANYWHERE in tha boat and/or on tha motor should come hot with key "on"............... it is tha only switched hot...
