Some boaters want a third set of tilt and trim controls. Yamaha offers an optional switch that can be mounted at say the front of the boat. A harness runs from the switch to the extra leads coming from the 703 control box.
Main tank is on the motor. Alarm is activated when the main tank is low.
Remote oil tank has nothing to do with the alarm.
If the main tank is filled and the alarm sounds then more than likely it is the alarm for over temperature.
The rod is part of the plate that gets bolted down. The rod is formed into a channel into which wires can lay to be restrained from movement. Flat plate prevents vertical movement. Looped part of the wire prevents lateral movement. Side to side movement.
#48 is the rod with a loop at the end of it. The loop I am presuming to have something fit down within it. Wires and such.
While the flat strap at the end is also helping to hold something in place. At least the wires to the trim and tilt switch.
You are in the better position to see what it...
I misread your post. Thinking it was about replacing the lower cowling mounted trim and tilt switch. Photo has the trim and tilt switch centered. Subject of this thread is about the trim and tilt switch.
If a man has a Mercury 7.5 that has points, and a 1975 Mercury 7.5 does not use points, the conclusion might be that the man does not have a 1975 Mercury 7.5.
But he might still need points.
