    Start with posting the actual values of a compression test.-----You will be shocked by what a big shop will charge you to repair 4 carburetors.----Do your trouble shooting FIRST.----May not be a carburetor issue at all.----Explain how you try and start a cold motor.----You might be missing a step ??

    One bolt MUST be taken out of the connecter when removing lower unit.------Notch on shift rod MUST line up before bolt is put in.----Propshaft must be turning when you try and shift.-----

    Simply amazing how the availability of parts has changed in the last 20 years or so.------Too many short lived models / changes.

    Taxes will drive up the shop labor / overhead costs.-----Tariffs will drive up the cost of parts and new motors.----Regulations / fees drive up the cost of boating.----In many places you can not simply put an affordable boat in the water anymore to have a day of fun.

    Some of the newest parts motors that I have are 4 strokes.----Early 2000 models.----Too expensive to repair.

    Agreed----Older motors are of little value since it costs too much for shops to do basic service.---That is if you can find a shop to work on them.------And folks who know how to fix older motors often get them for free or less than $50.

    Just glue the outside skin back on.----Easy and least amount of work.

    Those are an excellent / simple and reliable engine.------Hopefully it has the newer ( thick skirt ) pistons in it.

    ???-----The motor should start and run with fuel pumped into the carburetors with primer bulb.-----Buying a new ( $$$ ) electric fuel pump might not be a wise step.

    Parts book shows 3 identical PRESSURE operated fuel pumps.------Good luck with this motor.

    No surprise.----See post #6.-----And I do not believe the fuel pumps are electrically operated.
