    If there was a bad connection and ecu doesn’t get the power it likes sure could happen. Take it out for test run but stay close to the launch or where ever you keep it.

    So when this occurs do you have strong enough spark on a gap tester. Need to figure out if this is spark or fuel related. it doesn’t take any power to rev up in neutral It is kind of a meaningless test.

    Oil pressure 50-55 is really good, usually a cold reading as oil thins when engine gets warm. good rule of thumb is when oil is warm to have 10 psi for every 1000 rpm of engine speed. I usually have about 55-60 at 4000-4500 when good and warm. more if the lake is still cold

    It does freely slide out of the transom. I think there may be a plastic clip in there. I think there was one in my transom kit that I didn't bother replacing cause its hard to get to. either way cable slides out when you pull the bellhousing off.
