    Mid1980's Mercury 2cyl 35hp Spark Plug Question

While a lot of Oils(3rd Party) are said to Meet the TCW-3 Spec, that spec is over 30 yrs old. The Engine Manufacturers have Skin in the Game, and they know that if an Engine blows Up, throws a Rod, etc, People will cuss and swear at the Engine Brand, because to them Oil is Oil. I suspect the OEM...

Random change in rpm at wot...BIG CHANGE

Without knowing what the WOT Rpm is, you can't arbitrarily claim a sweet spot. You do not prop for a Speed at a certain/preferred Rpm, regardless of how the Engine Sounds

    1st Boat

Because Evinrude no longer exists, I would pass the one with the E-tec, simply because the Engine is far less likely to be an Owner serviceable Motor, as in any Diagnosis, cause it is a Computer controlled DI Engine. The Older V4, which has a history of breaking Piston Rings, is a Simple to...

That Power Valve looks like it was was exposed to Salt Water, replace it with one of the same Value. Just don't assume if there is one in the Carb Kit it is correct That carb looks dirty where the Air Bleeds are. The Accelerator Nozzles are in plain sight, under that Big Philips Screw When you...

    Engine Oil viscosity mixing?

If Volvo specs SAE 30 Synthetic, they have their Reason(s). However, is the 25/40 syn a Volvo or Mercury/Quicksilver Oil? If so, I wouldn't hesitate to use it

2008 Volvo Penta 5.0GL Carb Problems

You really need a Book that describes and shows what the Holley Fuel Circuits look like. I have searched Online for the Holley Idle Circuit Diagram, but can only find one, but is was for an International Harvester Tractor and had an adjustable Air Bleed(which permits fully closed Throttle Plates...
