The flat cap found on Crusaders and some others will accept wires that go into the cap and also the round cap. The next design has them going ON the cap ,the brass end protrudes up on the cap.
The latest flat cap takes a special plug that goes into the cap but looks nothing like a standard boot
just cant pull it thru, it has to pass thru a small hole in the transom housing .Once thru the shift bellow, just feel your way thru but be careful not to enter the flywheel housing
In the 4th pic polarity does not matter Most show Black as the hot.
but unit should work in either direction. For the gauge, Blue is lighting, Purple is ign power, Black is ground, Pink to sender
I can only add it somewhat confusing. when inserting the prop shaft on an angle you catch the shift selector ,(the "C" shape) in the shift spool, straighten the prop shaft and see with the shift rod in a straight line the prop shaft turns ccw when turning the lower drive shaft cw
before you go thru all that, remove the inlet hose, start motor, water should exit almost immediately from the hose end IF the pump replacement went ok.If the copper tube did not enter the guide tube no water will make it to the engine
The thunderbolt has 5 leads. black ground, purple and grey to coil, White/W red stripe and White/W green stripe to dist. These have nothing to do with the neutral safety switch that is in the control box to prevent starting in gear.
