2016 Mercruiser 6.2 ECT - long beep every few minutes???

The math doesn't work if the gas consumed to get to the beer > cost of beer consumed.

Merc 25 2 stroke/2 cyl remote shift difficulty

I've had this thing for 7ish years? It doesn't get the attention of the other boat, and rarely needs it. Last season noticed that shifting into/out of gears was becoming difficult. This season (after it got hammered in a storm at the end of last season) it's much harder, particularly getting...

    Knock Sensor Faulty?

Open your gas cap when the symptoms happen, this could be a clogged vent

    Knock Sensor Faulty?

There are plenty of other reasons for an intermittent problem to show up. This is easy to test, just hook up a timing light.

4.3 motor swap with truck engine

The larger M10 bolts won't fit through the holes on the old starter. You could drill out the holes, but seriously, just go with the new starter. If you ever need to replace, the PMGR is much easier to handle.

4.3 motor swap with truck engine

Like I said, your starter won't work without modification. Definitely not worth it when you can get a PMGR starter for less than $100. The core plugs might already be brass on the donor--check before replacing.

    Kinda Clueless in South Jersey

https://www.michiganmotorz.com/5-7l-complete-engine-package-1987-later-mercruiser-applications https://www.michiganmotorz.com/5-7l-vortec-marine-engine-1996-current Interestingly cheaper than the 5.0L. Figure $1-2K to swap everything over and replace the engine.

    Kinda Clueless in South Jersey

Short block: Bottom of the engine Long block: Both halves Neither include accessories (starter, water pump, alternator, etc). Those would be swapped over from your current engine. You can buy everything with the accessories included, which would go by various names (drop-in, bobtail, complete)...

    Kinda Clueless in South Jersey

Long block= SHORT block (Pistons, crankshaft) + heads (valve train) Small block engine= 5.7 L displacement or below (in a Chevy). Big block = bigger than that. More or less.

    Mercruiser 383 no spark/no fuel

This sounds like a problem that would be much easier to figure out with the rinda software... But a scope or dvm on hz or vac can tell you if you're getting a signal from the cpm.

    In dash GPS speedo?

My pitot speedo was accurate to within 1-2 mph @ upper 40's. Replaced with a GPS unit to eliminate potential water entry points in the transom. Biggest issue is that it takes a while to get a fix ... But it's super cheap, so...

4.3 motor swap with truck engine

Unless you go with vortec heads As Scott said, the newer blocks use an unholy combination of metric and imperial fasteners. Your starter won't swap over because of this either. You need to decide if you were going to use vortec heads and a four barrel carb or not. The swap will be a good bit...

4.3 motor swap with truck engine

This confused TF out of me when I started stripping out the holes using nearly identical to M10 ⅜ bolts. Ridiculous.
