I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

I'm back on the job! Now that I have a decent place to work, I can stop making excuses and actually get some things done. The plan is do a few small things on the KF prior to our next fishing trip, then later I'll bring the donor boat into the building and start dismounting the 50HP...

Hurricane Matthew - stay safe, East Coast iboaters!

Lessee.... there's a Cat 4 storm with a surge 20' tall, 20 miles wide which will reach 10 miles inland moving at 15mph being pushed by 130-140MPH winds. What could possibly go wrong? :noidea: :blue: Oh, right. THIS:

    Starcraft on C-list/ebay!

I can't... I just can't! My wife has already threatened frying pan action if I act on this one. I have 2 project boats plus the donor boat already sitting in the yard. Nothing's been done on them in ages. And my home project still isn't finished either. My head can't take any more lumps...

Hummingbirds, no not the fish locator type

Oh, fear not, we're not giving up on anything! My wife keeps planting and cultivating plenty of hummingbird/butterfly attracting plants around the place. I've seen 2 females plus one male all at the same time this week but the male drove the ladies away from the feeder. Anywho, I...

The well traveled 1979 Starcraft 18' V5 SS

I'm fond of the '80-'82 color scheme myself. :D And the red is a true red, not orange looking. ;)

    Back on the water

I posted this in my build thread over in the Starcraft section but figured it would be of interest here too. After 8 months of my ill health, I was finally able to get back on the water yesterday with my family! I missed two bass because I'm out of practice with the hookset. But we slayed...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Happy Birthday Kingfisher! One year ago today was the big splash.! And then my health slowly ground use and rehab of the little boat to a halt. :crutch: Dang it all. We haven't used the KF for 8 months as of today. Had hoped to get out to go fishing last weekend but the weather didn't...

    Possible malware?

I'm getting an avast! threat blocked message on this thread in the Starcraft section... Starcraft islander resto..... where to stop It's happening on the 2nd page of the thread. Attached is an image of the warning. Avast! has always performed perfectly for me, so I'd like to know all is well...

    Some good stuff happening

Dirt delivery today! Rained heavily yesterday and rained again this afternoon, but the construction company finally got the dirt here. No problem at all with truck ingress and egress. Contacted my buddy and he will try to get it leveled for me this weekend, but no promises. With the rain...

    Some good stuff happening

Thanks for the support, guys. It really is much appreciated! :) I did in fact get the grass cut today. And we ordered another load of fill dirt! It'll be here tomorrow morning. I'll send a pic of that to my buddy and ask him to get the pad area finished. GOT to get this shelter thing done! I'm...

    Spiffing up gauges

I'm retired so my labor is free. And it is a hobby after all, right? Maybe? Supply costs would be negligible. It would be nice if I could get some gauges like these, but the costs are pretty darned high. Something like $500 for the Rinker set. Hacker gauge set: Rinker gauge set:

    Spiffing up gauges

If I cleaned, polished and painted up these gauges, would they look a lot nicer? I was thinking of painting the bezels bright white. Or would they just look like cheap gauges that have been painted? This whole set is for sale on CL for just $50 and they'd work well for my twins project. But...

Hummingbirds, no not the fish locator type

gm280 We have them here too but nowhere near that number. We've only seen 3 at a time. My wife started planting perennials a couple years ago to attract them and it's starting to work. We now have a few "permanent" residents which remain here from spring to fall. Normally we'd see them...
