    Does spark jump a gap of at least 3/8" on a test device ?------Is the high speed jet in the very bottom of the float bowl clean ?

    Run with a timing light ( 1 cylinder at a time ) and see how spark behaves when motor falters.

    Are you sure that is the correct distributor cap for your motor.-----Perhaps another case of --" they look the same"----But are not the same.----Put the old cap on and test run ?

    Excessive exhaust back pressure is a far fetched idea.----Remove cowling.----Start motor.----Look for a leaking gasket / hose.

    ???----How big / heavy is the boat ?-----How fast to you want to go.-----A 6 HP motor can move a 10,000 LB boat, but not very fast.

    There have been issues with crankcase sealing rings.----Results in low crankcase compression.----Post the actual cylinder compression values.-----That may offer a clue.---Yes, you can put a PRESSURE gauge on the port to see what happens.----The fuel pump does NOT run on vacuum !

    The fuel pump runs with the PRESSURE from crankcase compression.----That is not the same as compression in the cylinder !-----There may be an issue with crankcase compression and fuel pump does not work !-----Mix the fuel at 50:1 in the portable tank.----Have your assistant operate the manual...

    Hook up a timing light.----See if it loses spark when it quits.----Disconnect the black yellow stripe wire at powerpack.---Test run.
