    New Fuel Line Size

Time will tell, a local marina that services high end yachts uses them exclusivly and has for years as does the Naval equipment supplier down there. Custom built to my specs, all N1 braided fuel hose for 70 bucks shipped to my home. If the US Navy uses them, good enough for me...

2.5HP Mercury/Tohatsu/Nissan Outboard No Longer Starting

Being a new xarb does not mean it is adjusted properly for your motor. Look in a factory service manual for carb setup and follow. Why not just rebuild your existing carb ?? Rebuild kits are not that expensive and then you would know the carb is properly setup.

    Boat Tarp Material?

The most resistant material to mother nature is found at semi truck tarp centers. That stuff holds up to anything, waterproof, strong, hard to rip or tear. Over the past 25 yrs, I have had three covers made, not one has ever failed !! Even standing water and snow has never affected them, and...

    leaking riveted starcraft ('82 MR180)

Mine has three hoses/ outlet/inlets what ever. Lowest outlet is a drain, then the top one is a fill hose from the pump. Then just below that, is the overflow. I don't use live wells so all are plugged off and the livewell is just storage.

What thinketh the membership here..... Useful or just hype

I agree whole heartedly, have had the same thing happen more than once...guess I should have learned the first time !! The ramp I use is very protected from currents and wind, so in gear is not often needed. Have had it roll back off the trailer on a few ocassions and had to reload, then I...

    leaking riveted starcraft ('82 MR180)

Allows keel to drain, most all aluminum boats have keel drains. I know you dont want to remove the floor, but much better and safer than filling the hull !! Remove floor the take your boat out with some good paint markers and start marking leaks. Once marked you can check for cracks or leaky...

What thinketh the membership here..... Useful or just hype

Getting the trailer set right and at the right depth next to the dock, then power load, but I keep the engine tilted so no washout and low power is all I need. Even my roller trailer will hold the boat, then reach over and snap the winch strap onto bow eye. If I have someone with me, I will...

EZ lube hubs and cold water

Mine have little pressure ports for excess grease to escape so over greasing should not be an issue, but...in regards to the original question....my hub mfgrs recomend letting the hubs cool down slightly before dunking in cold water. When I arrive at the ramp, I put a hand on my hubs right...

Adding Distilled water to battery. what qualifies as distilled?

It all boils down to how much of a gambler are you ?? I know an old guy that refuses to wear seat belts, he is over 80 yrs old. So ...does that mean seatbelts don't really help save lives ?? There are always the exception to the rules....how much do you want to gamble ?? For me, a 1.29 a...

Propeller Recommendation - 1998 Mercury Force 50 HP

In my years of experience with riveted aluminum boats it has worked better with the cav plate just below the hull mabey 1/2" up to 1" below. The keel and rivets tend to make lots of bubbles when traveling at speed and cause ventilation issues.. Just something to consider...
