1976 Evinrude - Metal vs. plastic water pump housing?

In 1980, We bought a 35, the Dealer had both the 79 and 80 models in Stock, and was offering a better price on the 79, and my Dad was seriously considering taking it. I told him that the Water Intakes on the 79 would likely get clogged by the Weeds. He grumbled at me a bit, but after some...

Seloc, and most 3rd Party Service Manuals, are only good for the Outhouse, and certainly not for Reading.

    Spraying metal flake

Some Paints are pretty resistant to Acetone, but Brake Fluid is often good for wrecking Havoc with Paint. There are also Paint Strippers out there that work on most paints, and they certainly wouldn't affect Gelcoat.

Crack in cylinder wall, need insight....

The Sleeves also look cracked, so to me, the Block would only be useful as an Anchor. I think it was pretty tacky of the Machinist to say a cracked Cylinder is fine, just to get money out of you. You will be better off getting another complete used Outboard of the same Model, you would then...

Add telltale pee hole to 1965 Johnson 75 HP

Hopefully it is loud enough to hear, when stuffed under the Dash, with the Engine screaming and the Wind Noise. I would have used an actual Horn, wired to a Relay, which would be wired to the Hot Light Feed

    Broken low speed needle

They're not even replaceable. I am surprised OMC went with 50:1 without Antifriction Bearings on the Crank, except for the Con Rod Bearings. Our 64 5 1/2 went thru a lot of Abuse, underwater, overheated, no oil in gearcase, but like a Timex, it kept on ticking

    Johnson 88 SPL

I don't mean to burst your Bubble, but I suspect something going on with the Transom. Both sides of it, have Plates, and in the one pic, below the outside one, it might be dirt, but it looks like a lot of Gelcoat Cracks

Guessing young adult kids text back rather than call?

One of my Caddies was written off a couple months ago, it was older than 2015, but not by much, but I disabled it and cut the wires to the Mikes when I got the Car. GM was a bit miffed but... As for the New Caddie, I had a very Colourful Discussion with the OnStar Reps when they were trying to...

My phone is for Phone calls For Email, my computer, and same goes for Internet. Even an Ipad is too small to do stuff on the Internet, so I can't fathom trying to do anything on a Phone Screen.

Guessing young adult kids text back rather than call?

Personally I HATE Texts. 95% of the Texters have no Clue about punctuation and spelling, and it takes time to figure out WTF they are trying to say. It is also far less Efficient than a Phone Call, plus much more Dangerous when Driving. Apparently one of my Cars can somehow take Spoken Words and...
