    Force Chrysler 35 hp, pistons.

Many of the piston companies in the USA will do custom pistons. Weisco will do custom pistons and also do outboard pistons. they could make you a set. But will need your dimensions and might even need an original to go off of so they get it right. It won't be cheap

Is my 77 Inline 6, 250 CID, 165 HP a GMC or a GM Chevy

GMC used the V engines until 1974.. The 250 integral head was used after 1975 on most trucks. If you needed a good short block, it would work in a pinch. separate intake heads are not too difficult to find.

Is my 77 Inline 6, 250 CID, 165 HP a GMC or a GM Chevy

Some interesting information on the GMC engines https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC_V6_engine of course, none of this is actually boat related

    1992 Bayliner Cuddy 3.0 Mercruiser

It's not a lot of motor for that boat. 4.3L V6 is what it should have. But it will make a good beginner boat if it's solid and checks out. Bayliner built price point boats, and one way they did that was basically selling boats with smaller engines than they should have, and optioning larger...

Is my 77 Inline 6, 250 CID, 165 HP a GMC or a GM Chevy

I don't think brand is stamped on any engine from the GM umbrella. When Chevy was using the 250 straight 6 in the trucks, GMC had a 305 V6 and a 351 V6. Stopped in the early 70s. Before the V6 they had the Jimmy straight 6 that was 302 cid or 265 iirc. They did v12 engines as well which were 2...

Is my 77 Inline 6, 250 CID, 165 HP a GMC or a GM Chevy

Gmc until the early 70s had their own engines. And through the 70s had bigger engines for big trucks. Gmcs first v8 was a Pontiac.. GMC engines were never used in boats

    Mercruiser 470 vs 140

They are very different engines. One is more or less 1/2 of a 460 made of aluminum. The other is an industrial GM/ Chevy engine

electric start motor for Tohatsu 8, 9.8 hp 4 stroke

They are/ were manufactured. You will need the motor, bracket and flywheel just to even attempt to make it work. You need a lot more than that to make it work factory like, but that can get it spinning over for you.. Keep in mind you need to find the electric start model similar to your motor...

    OMC to Mercruiser!

Your marine 350 if it runs good can be worth hundreds to a person in need of a good 350. If it runs good in a boat, it'll run great in a car. You could try to find a cracked block 5.0L or 5.7L boat. That will give the correct drive ratio and you could use your good long block. However, it would...

    Sear 217 58580 4 horse

The powerhead is a techumseh I think, and you'll probably find most of the parts you need brand new, being the only thing you wont find is a jug and it'll have to be bored or find used. It's a lawnmower engine though so you will find one... It's going to cost wayyyyy more than it's worth though

    Mercury 2+2 introduced?

I was basically given a '01 125 2+2 for a small fee and basically getting it off the owners boat so he could put a 90 'zuki on his boat.. He hated the 2+2 and the surge when the other 2 cylinders lit up. He could not troll the way he wanted to with it.. I never ran it before making a little...

1988 Merc 5.0XL with alpha drives engine replacement suggestions

My old bossman made me fix a mid 1990's Chevy 2500 w/ 5.7. The intake gasket had blown and dumped the contents of the radiator into the oil pan several times over. Owner ran it as a wood truck till it got hot, and then filled it up again with straight water over and over again never checking to...

1988 Merc 5.0XL with alpha drives engine replacement suggestions

Get it going cheap. Buy a good used truck motor, swap gaskets and cam, freeze plugs in your garage. Your engine should have the '87-'95 intake pattern. If it does not, then just re use your heads as well.. Prepare to upgrade to 5.7's when you can

    Mid 70s Ebbtide Interior

Probably had 2 jump seat type seats in the bow, and back to back loungers behind the windshield... Some place like SMS Auto Fabrics may be able to source the fabrics needed to return to original and you could recover new/ used b2b seats. But it's going to be spendy

    Engine Compatibility

Short answer is no, but the long answer is, maybe.. There are marine electric conversions and some companies are building electric boats. But getting enough battery capacity will weigh a lot more than a fuel tank that could carry capacity for the same distance. So you would likely have to get a...

    Engine Compatibility

The Nineteen's came with mostly Mercruiser 165's but pretty sure they had the 3.0L's as well. But they also came with OMC's If it's a 165, you could convert a truck 250 CID engine with the marine parts off of yours. If it's a 3.0L, you can find one of those easy enough. If you have a...

How to change oil with a rusted dipstick?

The dipstick tube in a Chevy engine is easy to replace if you can get to it. As far as changing oil. It has to go through that dip stick if not out the drain plug. 3/16" nicopp brake line would pass through the dipstick tube very easy and allow you to access the bottom of the pan
