    Don't use it as is, very harmful to the motor, extreme lugging.

    Your pictures are fine, you may want to grab a shop vac and clean up a bit then lube the linkage, may not solve the problem but couldn't hurt..

    I'm not familiar with that, probably much newer design, my 95 has a button..it may help you.

    I hung it up 14 years ago I think, shoot what day is it.. you get my drift.. I wasn't as fortunate as some who had a job they love.. and made money besides. I worked for a corporate builder when in truth I enjoyed carpentry. I made enough....

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there are numerous bits of rubber seals etc that will have deteriorated. You would need to do a total over haul. Probably best to clean it up and start your own museum.

    Why is it still getting hot

    Start with some new exhaust elbows, I am dealing with much the same..I had to replace the port side, now the starboard side is running a bit hot.. I've come to the conclusion that it's a balancing act and the water needs to flow equally through the entire system...

    I hate when that happens, usually when picking up the dock.. maybe bump the idle up a bit.
