    The manual indicates to me / mentions that this is a 4 stroke motor.-----It is up to you to determine what you have.----Do not start this motor until you are absolutely sure what style engine this is !!

    The spec sheet mentions valve clearance.----Intake and exhaust valve.----As far as I know there are no intake and exhaust valves on a 2 stroke.--Reed valves on a 2 stroke that are maintenance free.------Did you intend to say 2 stroke and 4 stroke instead of 2 cylinder and 4 cylinder ?

    These motors were all nearly the same from about 1980 to 1998.----In fact pistons are the same in a 1974 115 HP and a 1998 model.

    That would be the outer exhaust housing.------Your power head may be a 90 HP version.----Or an older 115 HP ( powerhead rated ).-----It may involve a bit of machining if you are keen to install that.----Do those plug wires have a metal core?----And why are they so long ?

    Both pistons move down in the cylinder , so yes pressure can increase in the crankcase.

    Number of turns of magnet wire in the primary and secondary determine coil performance.-----Order the correct coil for the motor.

    ^^^^ Applause on the comment about the rod linkage / stop.-----Folks mess that up because when it is adjusted correctly it just looks WRONG to them !!

    You can see the smoke and exhaust leaking in the first video.----That would have been the clue to find the exhaust leak.

    I think the linkage that opens throttle plate has a cam bushing.----Look for it / find it and adjust as needed.

    Spray some extra oil into carburetors while running.----Should make it easier to find exhaust leakage.-----My bet is on plug wires or sparkplug boots as the issue.----Replacing plug boots is what I would do first.
