    Not yours but the colors are correct. Orange with blue strip top....orange for lower. If you had a three cylinder it would be orange with green strip for bottom. Old omc mechanic taught me this.Think blue for sky...(top) Think green for grass (bottom) works with the trim too.

    I looked at these carbs that are listed on eBay and see the open holes except maybe the bottom. Could be like a round bearing (plug) is supposed to go in there.

    I don't see any evidence that something is coming out....did you wipe it off? Your post said motor was running good, so if something is supposed to be in there than it would run rough. Sorry, I'm not familiar with that motor.

    Are you sure you have the right wire going from the power pack to the proper coil? That would cause a backfire.

    My book tells you how to do it with and without the ring but it's a slightly different Evinrude. You match up the face with the machined surface located on the plate below. Others probably know better than me so wait for them to concur. It's always somethings with these things motors!

    Careful with those bolts, they like to break off. Also, there is two parts under there so you will need two gaskets.

    Yes, center screw and you will find a screen inside. Most likely you will be able to re-seal but check seal. Good chance you will need to clean your carb as well.

    Or spin the fuel filter out and dump it into a jar and inspect. Never know what gets pumped into your tank from the station.

    Lol, yes I believe sometimes that's exactly what is needed. So the check valve is in the bulb....otherwise it would pump one direction (to the engine) the fix is a new bulb. But after thinking more, and Racer said it best, junk in the tank. If the draw tube gets filled with stuff the motor...

    I know the smaller motors better but omc had design changes between your motor (1990) and the other motor (1996) but it just a guess.
