    Scotchbrite and elbow grease.-----Rubbing compound and elbow grease.-----Many simple methods to polish that.

    People often run motors till they go boom.-----The lessons are only taken to heart after the wallet is empty.----And what is the model # of this --" Johnson " ---outboard.-----Johnson is easy to repair.---Other brands may not be.

    The inline 6 has 5 of these bleed restrictors.---The 4 cylinder used 3 of the cheap nylon inserts.----I usually find 3 of them missing on an inline 6.

    I install 8-32 stainless set screws with a 0.040" hole.----Replaces those nylon restrictors with an improved version that will not fall out.

    Sounds like the prop itself came apart.-----Props are assembled.----They are not 1 piece.

    I would want to see 125 PSI or so.----If a motor was here at 105 PSI it would like be in line for major work.----But perhaps you have a bad gauge.

    I started working on outboards in 1968.---Some issues are easy to solve on older motors.----Do yourself a favor and do a compression test on this motor.---Keep the actual values for future reference and post them here.

    ???---2 minutes?----Might as well install a complete water pump kit.-----You ruined the pump housing and impeller !!

    Coils are all the same from about 1979 to 98.----Also the same whether 6 HP or 300 HP.----Wires might be a little different and easy to adapt.
