    Engine Replacement Compatibility

Also not sure if the extra 100 or so lbs of the V8 vs the V6 will lower the stern of a boat that size too much, could cause back wash in the exhaust problems.

Oil pressure on 1986 OMC cobra 5.7

Make sure you don't have impeller bits in your P/S cooler, thermostat housing and the hoses leading to the manifolds. If your old impeller was not 100% intact I would: Remove the impeller housing, disconnect the raw water intake hose at the thermostat housing, stick a garden hose in the raw...

    '95 OMC 5.0L fuel line

I wouldn’t cobble up something like that on an inboard boat the risk of something bad happening & liability is just way too high. Metal line only or approved flex line like Sierra sells. On my boat trailer when I installed brakes way back in ‘04 I used stainless line except for the rubber hoses...

    Shock

I used to get a tingle, from the remote control if I hit one of the trim buttons while touching the metal helm wheel, turned out to be a bare spot in one of the trim wires, fixed it with liquid electrical tape some years ago...

    Seats for Sunrunner272 ultra

It depends on labor & material cost. Take that pic of the seat & show it to an upholster shop that does marine work. If the padding etc is ok they can take the vinyl apart & copy it in new material. If there’s nothing there they will have to rebuild the frame out of plywood and add new foam &...

    2004 21 Seaswirl Striper

While it’s a 21’ they are pretty heavy so I’d say a 200 would be appropriate power for that hull. That’s a Yamaha 2 stroke from what I can see.

1976 Mercruiser 165 Engine Tick & Low Oil Pressure

Other thing you can do is hook up a mechanical gauge to see if your dash gauge is accurate. On my old 4.3 (original short block, reman heads) I get 40 at cold idle, 40-60 when running and 20 after coming off plane hot slow idle. I think I’d check with a mechanical gauge & keep using it. Also use...

Does anyone know how this damn hose gets unplugged?

I also had water in the oil due to blown head gaskets. The way I got it out was I carefully used a heat lamp to warm up the oil pan monitoring the heat with an IR heat gun to make sure it didn’t go over about 150 or so. If using a vacuum pump you want it warm not super hot because it will...

    Seats for Sunrunner272 ultra

Might have to get it done at an upholstery shop… What I did on my old boat was I bought two matching helm seats from Wise where the color scheme matched the colors in the rest of the interior. Was the cheaper way to go. For the large rear bench seat (old wood frame & weighed a ton!) I used two...

Yes that’s a bomb you have there. You must deal with the fuel leak first!

    Plugs fouling

You have a 4 bbl carb. Primaries are the 2 front venturis secondaries are the 2 rear ones….go into Holley.com there are a lot of tutorials to watch. You cannot fix or tune a carb unless you know how it works. Start with Bernoulli’s law….

    Plugs fouling

Remember the front bowl is the primary system & the rear bowl is the secondary system. In order to answer this question you need to know the model # and the build # stamped on the air horn. Then look up the specs on Holley.com

Question on tune-up of points ignition & wire/spark plug order

What I do....is take a sharpie and mark on the cap, the firing order and then do the same on the wires, it avoids embarrassing things like that happening.

Twin Merc. 6.2 Mags with Bravo 3 - EMCT Temperature Overheat Fault - Port side Manifolds (Only)

Oh my God, that pic sums up why I'd never ever own one of these! Either old school carbed I/O with wide open engine compartment for accessability or Modern 4 stroke outboard or A good condition Shamrock keel drive straight inboard with GM power, carbed of course... that's all.

    '95 OMC 5.0L fuel line

https://www.crowleymarine.com/johnson-evinrude/parts/53921.cfm?mdl=PGHCK8 from the OMC catalog, they show it as NLA, but you can look on ebay, NLA Marine parts, etc by the part number. Or, learn how to make up a new fuel line yourself, like a brake line. here's one, see if they still have it...

    '95 OMC 5.0L fuel line

Sierra makes flex fuel line with the fittings installed, that may work for you. It's a carb engine so its all low pressure stuff. I'm pretty sure after looking at an OMC catalog most of that stuff is NLA, but because that is a joint venture Cobra (meaning that, it is the same as a Volvo SX of...

    '95 OMC 5.0L fuel line

Not sure but doesn’t look original….what’s the year & engine you have there? With the model # on that sticker, you can then look it up in a parts catalog, & see what is supposed to be there as far as a fuel line…looks like someone buggered that up & seems to be leaking…ahh ok I see it’s a 1995...
