50hp Yamaha 2 stroke outboard fuel problem?

too much fuel to air along with too little fuel to air will not allow a cylinder to fire and burn the fuel. sounds like you have some plugged up jets and the motor is lean sneezing, but dumping fuel is what you need to chase right now

Yamaha 50 HP 4 stroke outboard overheating. Cant solve problem

or maybe too much is flowing out instead of going thru the motor. I have no idea on where that 4 stroke TT is tied in, but a lot of the old 2 strokes it just indicated that the pump was pumping, and the water coming out was not hot so it did not run thru the motor before exiting the TT And I...

Yamaha 90 slows down after about 15 mins.

when did you test the horn last? my C40 has 2 temp switches on it , one to tell the CDi when the motor is warmed up and one to tell when it overheated make sure they both work. but I would check to make sure the timing is not retarding when it should be advanced

Yamaha 50 HP 4 stroke outboard overheating. Cant solve problem

you mentioned the stat was not opening, or maybe it was blocked up with some debris. But you did not say you put a known good (tested)stat into the housing? Does this motor have a PRV that could stick open dumping water? are you sure the pipe from pump to power head is sealed to make sure all...

Yamaha 90 slows down after about 15 mins.

I would think so, but with an inductive timing light hooked to the individual plug wires you will be able to make sure they are getting steady spark, and see what the timing is doing as long as you mark the flywheel good enough to see where it should be lighting up at. all while the problem is...

Yamaha 90 slows down after about 15 mins.

testing things while the problem is there is the only way you will find it. spark on all 3 cylinders is needed. timing monitored also to make sure the timing is not dropping back when this happens. does pushing on the primer bulb do any to help?
