    why would you bypass safety switches? fix it correctly, you controls should have a neutral switch. service manuals help a lot when working on motors you own, but not if the boat has controls that are not of the same make you could do a search for Yamaha wire color codes if you refuse to own...

    what 2001 9.9 are you talking about? what top hose is plugged. insects like to crawl into holes and plug them up. use weed wacker line to shove up that passage and blow with compressed air while running on muffs

    never in my life have I known any gear oil to smell good, I have run some out boards without the lower units on as you said, but never played with a 75 Suzuki
