1982 ADI Mercury 115 6 Cylinder pesky miss

Compare your spark plugs with each other. All should be brown or black. Any that are clean, like new can indicate water infiltration into that cylinder. Your main jets in the carbs are installed and correct for the motor? It should not studder at 3000+ RPM. If so, make sure the high and low...

    93 Johson 150hp fuel issue

The kits are avail aftermarket. Likely Sierra and GLM make them. Make sure they cross exactly with the OEMs, by checking several sites. I had trouble with the kits on a similar motor. The spaghetti seals were real close, but not exact. The main jet is in the carb bowl. The idle jets are...

    Overheating issue.

Flappers are not really important. They will stop water from backing up into the manifolds, if and only if you make a quick change from high speed to no speed. That maneuver is not one you should make for a variety of reasons. Fix the manifolds/risers first.

    Overheating issue.

There should not be any water in the exhaust passage of the manifold. It should stay in the outer water jacket (hence the name). The trailing ends of the risers rust away first. This can let water dribble into the manifolds, thru holes or voids. Water in manifolds can easy get into engine...

    johnson 150 Low Rpm

Gee, the main jets are real easy to clean. Why not start there. If they are clogged, imagine how clogged the much smaller idle passages are. Idle passages are located in the throttle bodies, BTW.

New fuel lines on inboard tank cannot prime!

That can work, but the empty water separator is a real issue.

    Shifting in Reverse Problems

Check adjustment of shift lever. Not sure how to do that on your motor. On the larger motors, we set the shift slider to neutral, with the cable disconnected. Now adjust the shift cable to fit the position of the shift cable, with the control in neutral.

New fuel lines on inboard tank cannot prime!

If the water separator is empty, it can be real hard to prime. Fill it with fuel. Also fill the primer bulb with fuel. They are not very good at pumping air.

Mercury 1150 Water In Bottom 2 Cylinders

Tilt the motor up and pour 2 cycle oil into the spark plug openings. Tilt the motor down.. Squirt some fogging oil into carbs, while turning it over a few turns. Hopefully the 2 cycle/fogging oil will replace the water in the cylinders and crankcase.

What size motor do I need?

80HP was probably more HP than was available in a single OMC engine in 1964. Merc may have has a 90HP skyscraper in those days.

Battery Boxes, Battery Trays, & 2nd Battery.

If there is room, locate the two batteries side by side. If protected area, a battery box is not necessary. A battery tray and hold down is just fine. Add a battery switch to add some flexibility and isolate starting battery from "house" battery drain.

    Need new axle.

Eastern Marine in DE has quite a selection of trailer parts. They list exact matches for the more common trailer brands. If your trailer is not in that list, just match the capacity and length to your current axel.

Mercury 1150 Water In Bottom 2 Cylinders

You have to pull the powerhead to replace the crank seals. You can pull the exhaust cover, baffle and inner cover, w/o pulling the powerhead, but it is real hard, (real hard) and the likely culprit is the crank seals, in your situation. It is best to pull the powerhead.

    Spindle pitting or discoloration?

Ye, you should be able to grease the races and hub, without removing the grease seal. If your wheel doesn't have brakes, you could pack the entire hub with grease if you wanted. That is what bearing buddies do anyway. Bearing buddies are a good idea, BTW. Just keep 'em packed with grease...
