    Easiest to crank manual winch

I am sure you are correct, most of the complaints came from much less expensive units!! Unfortunately My issue is not from a heavy boat, just worn out shoulders from working for 50 years. Hard to justify 600 for a 16' aluminum boat winch, but nice to know there are good quality units out...

Burned coil after upgrading to Pertronix

Had similiar issue with Merc 3.0 some years back. Had to go with a non resistor type coil, also a flamethrower from Summit racing, called them and explained my issue. Sent me the correct coil and issue was solved

    USB charger

Take the item in your pic and install next to cig lighter and connect to same power that feeds the lighter. If you dont want to drill a hole, the make metal plates with a hole for your adapter that attach to an edge so no drilling is needed. Lots of solutions if you search for options

    Easiest to crank manual winch

I do have a roller trailer so it should be easy, and probably is to a person with good shoulders. Beginning to think my winch might be working to hard or barely adequate for the job. A longer handle of moving to a heavier 2 speed might be the way to go. Thanks for your input

    Easiest to crank manual winch

Recently purchased a 16' Sylvan alum boat with 40 hp Merc OB. Time to downsize from my 22' as it was getting to much for rhis old man. My whole outfit should fall into a total weight of 2000 lbs or slightly less. I have serious issues with torn rotator cuffs in the shoulder. This makes...

Moller and other compliant ventless portable tank

In the old days ( I am 73). I keot my boat in a hoist, under a mooring cover. We still had steel tanks but plastic was just beginning to show up. When I put my cover on I would crack open the cap to release pressure and leave it that way. Sure some minor fumes escaped, but that was good as it...

    1968 Johnson 6hp CD25A engine dying

When you rebuild your carb get a rebuild kit, over my 50 plus years of boating, I have saw where just cleaning rarely works well, a thorough rebuild with new gaskets needle and seat is the proper way to go.

    Battery discharge. ...normal?

Yes...that is the best way to go, and best for your batteries as well. Battery Tender makes a maintainer of which I have 3 of.. Keeps battery charged and keeps internal plates cleaner, my batteries have doubled there service lives after keeping them on maintainers. My boat batteries are 5...

    Battery draining

When you say battery is 100% ....what does that mean ? 12.6 volts and above is a full charge....below 12 volts is pretty much dead. 12.3 volts is approx 60% full..etc. Check with a volt meter to be sure. If the battery has dropped below 11.8 volts then it needs replaced as most wont recover...
