Centering boat on trailer (solo) without trailer guides? or DIY guide advice

At the ramps by me, the rear wheels of my Jeep would be in the water before my 13" trailer wheels would be covered with water!!

Centering boat on trailer (solo) without trailer guides? or DIY guide advice

You might have the same issue that I have....the ramps are to shallow!! If I back in until my rear bumper is at waters edge my last roller at the rear is still out of the water by an inch or two. I typically back most of my vehicle into the water to allow my 16' alumunum boat to float off...

    Roller To Bunk Conversion

I have always prefered roller trailers myself, but to each his own.. One thing is to be sure the bunks extend out beyond the transom. On any trailer the rear support needs to extend as far back as possible. On my roller trailer, the rear rollers are right at the transom as this is the heaviest...

Mercruiser Alpha One Gen I Winterization

If you cant do a thorough drain of the block, you better consider a heated storage facility. One thing I checked very closely was room in the engine compartment when I purchase an I/O.

    Outdrive Sealant

If you choose to shortcut this repair with a temporary fix, be sure you carry extra life jackets for your passengers so they have a chance when things go bad.....

Treated bunk + carpet + aluminum = CORROSION

Why take the chance? Can you replace the toons for less than the cost of carpet?? I would think the carpet cost would be much cheaper!!!

    93 Evinrude 60Hp

Why not correct the water getting on the fuel connector first and see if the issue gets resolved. Trying to fix multiple things at one time rarely works as you dont know which fix was the problem!!

small pocket in floor of 1989 Searay 220 Sundancer

Where the water is comming from would be a real concern for me!!! If the pocket has water, how much water is under it??

Mercruiser Alpha One Gen I Winterization

I always remove my outdrive for the winter, easy to do, this allows for a good inspection to see if all is well. This way the gimbal bearing, shift cables and boots can all be checked. If I find any issues, I have all winter to get them fixed rather than waiting in the long line in the spring...

    Crappy hose

OK, now you have my attention with this " crappy gray hose" my recently purchased used 1992 Merc 40 hp 4 cylinder 2 stroke has a gray fuel line on it with an inline filter. Looks almost new and is pliable, so should I be concerned?? Been away from OB motors for about 15 years, ( went to I/O...

    Battery discharge. ...normal?

Most all newer toys have some type of parasitic drain with all these electrical gizmos they have nowadays. Both my boat and motorhome have them. Rather than going thru detailed testing just use the battery cutoff if you have it or add them if you dont. I added them to my MH batteries but my...

    Dumb-dumbs at the Dock . . .

Unfortunately we have trained the public to believe they have the right of way over any type of vehicle!! In court rooms all over the country pedestrians are getting big settlements by sueing vehicle owners! Just drive anywhere around a school when it gets out, these kids will walk side by...
