Removing very, very, very stuck propeller (Mercruiser MC-1)

Yes once nut is off it should slide off. They make pullers for this but are probably more expensive than the prop you are trying to save…

    Chaparral backfiring a lacks power

Had the same issue on my boat when I got it had never been changed. Had to cut the filter in half grab jagged edge with vise grips and hammer on vice grips to break it loose. Changing it annually since no issues

    Quicksilver Powershift 2

As mentioned Enertia, or try a 4 blade. I have had very good luck with a Revolution 4 and Vensura Props. Tried a high 5 was disappointed with it same results as you. For sure you will not keep the same top end and have good holeshot with out repowering with a bigger engine… props are trade offs...

    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

Don’t know that model exactly but Sounds like the impeller is stuck on the driveshaft. Its just pulling against the Coupler between engine and drive shaft and or the seal where it goes through the hull. driveshaft is splined into impeller, if it hasn’t been off ever may be the issue

    Mercruiser 3.0 carb issues

Clicking seems like accelerator pump arm inside float bowl is rubbing. Take bowl top off i think you will see the arm that attaches to the accelerator pump pivot shaft is installed incorrectly. I think if it get flipped around during a rebuild it rubs the linkages seem ok, except accelerator...

    Seadoo GTX 4 tec

Yes was also thinking pump itself could be siezed if it sat with water inside for years. Might be easier to remove pump and see if you can turn driveshaft

    Do I survey a 25K boat

Really depends on your comfort level with assessing the condition. I do all my own work so i basically do the survey myself, but i feel confident in my knowledge base. big concern with 94 is stringers and transom wood Rot. From what i understand only can tell by drilling

    Surging / losing rpm

Yes thats next to drivers seat on shifter, make sure it is fully toggled on, can jumper around it for testing. Also worth checking connections under dash for purple wire feeding ignition circuit, you’d be surprised how many gauges etc connection points it daisy chains through On its way back to...

    Surging / losing rpm

Shift interrupt if functioning properly only cuts ignition momentarily when coming OUT of gear due to back cut on gears. Load on prop keeps it held in gear until ignition interupt unloads the gears engagement teeth momentarily still worth checking just be careful on water if disconnected as you...

2022 Boating Season - help for first time boat buyers

For what its worth it seems on par with NADA value for that boat, which should be fairly current. that size boat, not sure what your use will be but my 21 ft bowrider , typical lake use, about 45 hrs a year, i spend a out $600-700 annually on fuel. Yes it will be more this year for sure but...

Thinking of upgrading to Sea Ray 210BR

Ive had two Sea Rays,a ‘91 170, and still have a ‘04. 200 sport, which is similar in size to the 210 you are looking at. as outlined concern in a boat that age would be integrity of stringers and transom. If it is at a dealer would think they would be willing to drill holes down low in transom...

A couple of quick Edelbrock ?'s

I observed that standard carb and brake cleaners remove the stock goldish coating on the outside of edlebrock carbs rather easily. You can spray carb cleaner inside so issue its bare aluminum in there. they just dont want you to soak it in an old school carb ckeaner like berrymans or berkebile...

Mercruiser 4.3 Vortec running hot on one side

no balls in that housing you have cold manifold design. again i think what you have looks fine there will be some steam as exhaust is hot. If it makes u feel more confident take a thermometer and measure temp of manifolds

    Factory holes in stringers?

Looks very similar to holes in my sea ray stringers and floor Through which they filled the void with foam. They have a plastic cap covering them which doesnt always stay in place over time. There are 10-12 visible between engine compartment, ski locker, and storage compartments on either side...

Mercruiser 4.3 Vortec running hot on one side

temp diff between manifolds is not uncommon, they should be hot to touch, but not so hot you cant put your hand on them for a second 180 or so. if one manifold is higher than other will create more flow one way or other. does your system feed the elbow as well as the manifold ? If so thee are...
