    Fuel Line Drained the tank

Gee, fix the leak in the fuel supply system under the cowling.

    Fuel leaking when motor tilted.

That is normal. Floats only seal the inlet needle, when they can float (hence the name). When you tilt the motor, the floats cannot float normally. Why are you pumping the primer bulb with the motor tilted?

Intermittent Trim issue - late 80s Mercury 115

OK, too many problems to diagnose at once, with the description given. First of all, what year is motor? Does it have 50cent piece-sized round electrical connector or external quick disconnect plug on motor? Check engine wiring harness for failing insulation.

    Fuel Line Drained the tank

For fuel to siphon, the end of the fuel hose needs to be lower than the fuel level in the tank. If the fuel line doesn't leak, and it is connected to the motor, which is higher than the fuel level, it should not siphon. Have you checked under the motor cowling for leaks? Is the motor running...

Steering intermittently hard/pulls to left, and leaky ram.

Since you have not replies, here is my guess. Most boats pull right. Trim can help that. However, power steering eliminates that pull. The hard steering you are experiencing may be that the PS belt slips, turning off the PS. Or it could be a pocket of air in the ram. I think the fix is to...

Broken skeg and play in prop shaft.

You did hit that hard. You should be able to get a new skeg welded on. Look for a replacement at Mercruiser. You will want to pull the drive and take it to a good welder. A good welder will not need to drain the gear oil or strip the gearcase. He can weld the new skeg over the old one...

    tilt/trim units

The trim limit switch on those Alpha units in on one of the pivot points of the outdrive that is submerged. It is under a plastic cover. Likely the switch guts have gone bad. The other pivot point is the trim gauge sender. It is a copper pointer and coil that moves as the drive trims up/down.

    Shifter question?

I suspect that the throttle may move further in forward, but what is the point of the question? Would you want to keep the shifting backwards?

Starter wiring help, 90 2 stroke

Go on the maxrules site and grab a wiring diagram. Now trace the unconnected wires and see where they go. Connect per wiring diagram. Relay primary windings must have a ground to operate. The PTT motor must be grounded thru the relay's secondary winding to operate as well. That larger...

    Shifter question?

Better performance from changing the controls? Not sure I understand the question. If the shifter is adjusted and installed correctly, the motor should shift properly. If the throttle cable is adjusted properly, the throttle should open all the way.

How can I raise my 1977 1150 Mercury because I want to add oil to the power/trim unit

As Alumarine says, turn the knurled knob, at the very bottom of the PTT motor/reservoir. Now take an Ibuprofen and grab the gearcase with two hands and lift it to tilt it. Initially it will be difficult, but will get a bit easier. Use the manual tilt lock (dog ears on midsection) to hold it...

    Engine Cover/Rear Decking

I built the doghouse out of 1/2 plywood. The front seams were fastened with fiberglass cloth and resin. The rear edge was strengthened with 2X2 lumber, screwed to the plywood. Cover the plywood with polyurethane inside and out, and cover with a rug or vinyl to match the seats.

89 Sea Ray Bowrider starboard back padding upholstery repair

My '88 SeaRay 18 footer had nuts holding the bow padding to the hull. Pull up the base cushions and stick your hand up, behind the pad to find them.

Trim/tilt blows engine main fuse - Johnson 115hp Oceanrunner

The wiring is likely shorted to ground somewhere in the engine harness, Look for melted wires on the engine harness. If '96 and newer there are 2 connectors on port side of motor. Look there for melt, and then move to under dashboard wiring.

Intermittent Trim issue - late 80s Mercury 115

So, the PTT system is the trim pump/reservoir in the boat and twin trim cylinders outboard of the transom bracket? I think the problem is electrical supply to the Trim Pump motor. You can test this by using a jumper cable from the battery positive post to the green and then blue wire that run...

    Carburetor frustration

The idle passages are in the throttle bodies, not the carbs. Did you get them clean? New side plate gaskets on the throttle bodies? I pulled the side covers off and sprayed the idle needles to clean 'em up. They have a mid range orifice. did you blow that out? The Spaghetti seals on the...

Insane good tower of power fuel economy?

Merc IL6 were very compact and light for their power. Even by today's standards. Most of their power was at mid RPM range however. Low power was less. On my Avenger, I would use full throttle to get her to plane. At that point (3000RPM, about 30MPH), she would turn into a rocket and...

Insane good tower of power fuel economy?

My Avenger also has minimal foam under the deck, however, it has a chunk under the bow, and there is room for more under the splashwell. She does float when swamped, fortunately. Foam also is used to support the hull, so less stringers and frames are needed. Hopefully your hull didn't count...

    Boat refueling

The problem with gas caddys is that they hold 12 gal. They are heavy to lift into the trunk of the car after filling, and out again. They then take 2 hands to drag to the boat. I find 5 or 6 gal Jerry cans better. They pack more tightly in the trunk, are half the weight and you can carry 2...
