    Operating the wee electric primer valve should not change the way the big starter operates.------So I would look at all the wiring.----On the ignition switch.----Inside the control box.----Inside the wiring harness .---Around the motor.----Something is WRONG there.

    An aluminum plate / piece 1/16" thick to cover that surface.----Put it in place with JB weld.-----Or look into a product called ---lumiweld----An aluminum brazing rod.----Used that stuff myself to do aluminum repair.

    I think it is another example of poor quality material used in some motors,----Does the hole allow water to exit the block.----Have seen more than 1 example of corrosion like that on that brand of motor !!

    It should bark and roar like a raging lion.-----So based on 50+ years of experience I say that spark is weak or non existent.----Or at the wrong time.----Easy to figure out in my opinion.

    Put 6 and 1/2 drops of fuel into each sparkplug hole.---Install plugs.----Pull cord 10 times and report what motor does.

    Just proof that motors need a new impeller every 5 years or so.-----But check the flywheel key.----A sheared key puts timing way out.----Not a big deal to take the head off for inspection.----The head will be warped and needs refinishing.-----Glass and emery paper does that repair.

    Some will argue.----I would remove bypass covers to look at pistons and rings.----Cost you a few $$ for gaskets.----And at 105 PSI on my compression tester the head would come off without hesitation.

    Wire from powerpack to coils correct??----Orange / blue stripe must go to top coil.

    Tork is 102.5 FT-LBS.----Wasting your time if you do not pull the flywheel off.

    Nothing to do with the VRO pump.----Part of the oil recirculation system.-----Post the actual compression values on this engine.----They are world famous for broken piston rings.

    Friend owned a marina and said that he loves the 4 strokes.-----Fork lift fee to take the boat out of the water.---Service work at 100/ hr.----Filters / oil / gear oil / sparkplugs add up to a hefty invoice.-----Well to do folks have no issue with this.

    You must pull the flywheel off !----Need to clean / set breaker points at 0.010"----Inspect anti-reversing spring.----Clean rotor and distributor cap.----And 4 ohm on the stator does not sound correct.
