1988 mercruiser alpha one water pump issue

Would also check the water tube is assembled correctly, easy to misalign when reassembling the two halves. If it previously over heated the water pocket cover could be damaged

    Which Mercruiser engines...?

If you have room in front a 5.0 or 5.7 will work fine. If you are not looking for more hp why are you asking about replacing the 4.3 witha 5 something ?? the 4.3 and the sbc have a common lineage front and back are same on blocks , sbc is 4.5” longer otherwise easy swap

merc inline 6 165hp temperature problem ( ive changed the exhaust )

I think @achris is familiar with the water flow on this engine. I would have concern the copper tube is what constantly supplies water to the exhaust regardless of thermostat being open. usually when thermostat gets removed something is FUBAR …

Marine Power 454 Engines Fuel Pump

Those are typical electric pumps set up on carbed engines now. Should be 4-5 psi if working ok. Did u measure fuel pressure off them to carb? Whats the issue you are trying to solve . here is a listing...

Mercathode transom mount 42600A18 on twin I/O systems

loose the edge, you went swinging Johnson’s as well, and to be blunt i dont care if your drives fall off your boat. when you find your merc instructions you find they don’t really say much… except test the system at the end. But again could care less if your drives rot off.… if you were...

Mercathode transom mount 42600A18 on twin I/O systems

These are what came with my kit. Do you have the transom pucks or the annode under the Gimbal housing. If you have it only under one gimbal housing i would suggest installing it on the other gimbal as well. my friend with a bravo three has two units one on gimbal and one with the transom...

Purpose of spacer on Mercruiser 140, front engine mount,

The world is t going to end over this but it isolates the bolt from the un numbered horizontal mount casting , otherwise the washers would transmit engine vibration that should be absorbed by the mount #19. Basically you are taking the flexible nature of the mount out of it by tightening it...

Purchasing 2nd Boat: Jet or Stern Drive?

One more jet boat detractor- if you like to water ski the wake behind a jet is less smooth in my opinion than a stern drive wake. Also we have a ton of issue with weeds in our jetski so I can imagine a jet boat would be any different. On the ski who cares you are wet anyways but other times when...

Raw water at carb at higher RPM

So you are filling your crankcase with raw water? i cant see pulling this in from the exhaust, it would fill a cylinder and hydro lock. You would have to have both a leak from raw water side into af side of heat exchanger, and leak from cooling jacket into crank case…

    Cleaning Manifolds & Risers

As long as there is enough meat to mill them down to a good flat sealing surface should be ok. Pic on the right looks like itnhas a chunk out of the sealing surface may require a lot of milling to remove
