    Carb Recommendations for 5.7L Vortec?

Depends on what you have for standard. The fuel line off the 357 alpha and bravo engines will work if you have a mechanical fuel pump. The difference in hop is from the cylinder which requires a different intake manifold I suspect if you can see pics of the different head ports and manifold you can probably tell visually, or maybe research head casting number which I think would be under valve cover

Finally ready for a new prop

I know your efforts are on revfloating and reviving your boat now but Assuming you can get it dewatered and running - try a michigan vortex 4 blade I think based on your numbers an 18" would probably plant you about 5 k lightly loaded and help pulling up.

    Carb Recommendations for 5.7L Vortec?

Yes - basically they factor a higher volumetric efficency for racing engines vs street. Most of the outfits like Michigan Motorz who sell partial or complete engine packages use a 1409 600 cfm on 5.7 engines so these must work well. Not to foncuse the issue- I have never been able to figure...

Pretty sure except for possible driveshaft (into coupler) length difference any later R/MR/ Alpha gen one will bolt up. you can get a used drive or look at the aftermarket SEI 106 drives. Says it fits 1972 -1990 which should cover your mc1

    Bayliner 175 Rehab

For internal engine parts for the rebuild do not buy them from mercruiser or any marine place, best to find a local machine shop or engine rebuild shop as they are standard GM industrial engine parts. if you find you need to replace the engine due to freeze damage etc Michigan Motorz is a often...
